•+*Forevers a long time*+•
Vi (arcane) x reader [angst-> comfort kinda..]
synopsis: Vi visits your new home before her big mission..
SEASON 2 SPOILERS KINDA!!!!
Tumblr media
This is hard; fathoming the possibility that this may be the last time she sees you, its hard.
Vi tries her best to put up her brave walls again but when she hears your breath getting caught in your throat she realizes that its pointless "H-Hey this isn't goodbye" she says while haphazardly wiping your tears, trying to wipe her own as well, she knows that she might be lying, but for your sake she cant believe that too.
"B--But--" you start "No, I will come back, not in a box, okay?" she tries to reassure you through her shaky words wrapping her arms around you to bring you down "Vi d--don't even say that don't say that I wasn't trying to bring it up but--" hic "You cant leave, no, not right now, everything was going good before the explosion, you cant" you ramble on about how you two where finally gonna have a good life together, how her impatient self waited so long to get out of Stillwater to have a good life with you and now this? She quickly shuts you up with a soft kiss to bring you down.
"Hey--Hey Y/n breathe, breath Lovebug" she attempts to calm you down by tracing shapes into your side and kissing your cheeks, something that always works "I know, I don't like waiting for anything and we finally got here, but to make sure we keep everything we worked for I have to go, its only gonna be for a week ok and the---" you cut her off "Yeah a week where you might die!" she sighs, your right, your almost always right "Yeah, I know" she starts, pausing her motion for a split second, contemplating her life "Lovebug, you gotta understand that even if I do die, its for the greater cause, plus you know Cait, she doesn't miss, and you know me! I don't miss.. well most of the time" she chuckles while planting kisses all over your face and hairline.
When she finally gets you too stop crying she holds your hand "Tell you what.." she starts "When I come back, I'll get you that pretty promise ring you always wanted hm?" your mouth runs dry "Really Vi..?" you ask while your face flushes red "mhm' really, then I'll be yours forever, well until I really propose" she looks into your eyes, the color soothes her, it always does. You shake your head while smiling sadly "Well m' gonna hold it to you Vi, forever's a long time and I need you for that so you better come back" you say bittersweetly, still coping with the idea that your girlfriend might not come back.
"I want you to pinky promise that you'll come back Violet" 'Oh shit', she thinks you used her real name, She smiles and holds up her pinky “If I don't come back I want you too cut my pinky off for the funeral" she jokes as you interlock your fingers and lock it in with your thumbs "M' serious Vi, I need you here.. a lot of us do" you smile shyly "yeah I know" she says with a cocky smirk
Afterwards you two headed to bed and had hot and sad sesbian lex
———————————————————————————
The day after you where a mess.
You got dressed and got her ready to go "Go get her Vi, I'm sorry that its her that you have to get.." you say sadly, reminiscing on the times you and Vi hung out with powder, the times that you wanted the small girl to cherish. "She's gone Y/n, m' sorry but she is, I think I'll be ok." she takes a deep breath, realizing that in a way she's become something she never wanted to be "I know, just, be careful.." You say while admiring your tall girlfriend in the mirror thinking its weird how she's wearing the enforcer uniform, then you hear Caitlyn's knock at the door.
"I guess this is it then.." she starts but you quickly shut her down "No, we where sad yesterday, today your gonna go be the only cool ass enforcer and your gonna get her. Then your gonna come back to me like you promised" You say, determined to lighten the mood, She quickly pulls you into a deep kiss, its a goodbye kiss you know it is, but it doesn't matter to you anymore.
"Bye--Bye Vi, I'll hold up the fort while your gone"
"Bye Lovebug, I'll see you in a week"
you watch them as they leave, Vi looking back too see if you where still looking as many times as she can to make sure she can remember your face.

any thoughts on peri and dev not saying bye to each other before the memory wipe? i know it's been weeks since the finale but it's something i keep dwelling on
Well it's not like we've had any new official content since to dwell on lol you're good
I guess I'll just say outright that yeah, I do really wish Peri and Dev had been able to say goodbye. I understand that the finale was really strapped for time, but still... disappointing.
I do still think that Peri and Dev will get back together, so to say, in season 2, as it'd be stupid to just revert Dev forever, and even stupider to just completely get rid of Peri considering he's important to Cosmo & Wanda's story, the two characters that are in every iteration of FOP so far. They aren't just gonna throw either of them away. So it's not the worst thing...
But it's still pretty eh.
Peri keeps fucking up around Dev, and this is just another nail in the coffin. So many of the times we see him, he's talking to his parents instead of the godkid he's supposed to be looking after- just look at Operation: Birthday Takeback or the end of Best of Luck. Obviously he's had to have been talking to Dev when they're not around, but Dev would definitely notice that any time they're nearby, they're being prioritized over him.
He does talk to Dev specifically for a bit in Dig a Little Deeper, but it's part of an argument. And even then, Cosmo and Wanda insert themselves into the conversation a moment later.
It would've made more sense to have their separation be the first time we really see Peri prioritize talking to Dev for even just a second, beyond when he's trying to avoid his parents in Battle of the Dimmsonian. You can have him hug his parents and then apologize to Dev, even.
It'd end up being like... a beginning at the end. Finally starting to get along, but only when it's too late. And then they could use that as a starting point for whatever their season 2 dynamic is going to be- Peri as his caretaker, Dev remembering on his own, whatever. They started to learn about each other, then separated for a while, and now..... now what?
It'd just be nicer, I think, to have them apologize to each other. Also leaves us off with a slightly better ending for if we don't end up getting a season 2 (pleaaaaaaaaase Nickelodeon be sensible for once....)
But, again, I do acknowledge that they were strapped for time. Fitting a whole Fairy World takeover into a 22-minute episode is difficult to balance. It's a big plot, on top of having to include some bits of humor as well to keep it from seeming too serious and dark. They probably would've done something there if they could.

august
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
genre: angst au: high school au, summer love au warnings: swearing word count: 0.8k   pairing: gn!reader x lee minho song: august by taylor swift mini series: cruel summer // august // betty // cardigan // the 1 a/n: the reader for this is not the same reader for betty or cardigan. this reader is minho’s summer friend.
SO MUCH FOR SUMMER LOVE AND SAYING “US”
This love has been living on borrowed time. You knew that the night you kissed Minho, his lips sticky with the bubblegum bubble you popped. It was a stupid decision, yet he kissed you back.
Kissed you until your lip gloss got lost among the splatter, until the remnants of his strawberry-flavored gum found their way into your mouth, until you both forget how quickly this has to end.
That didn’t seem to matter. Sand dune chats and bottled sunscreen burnished the days golden, pilfered wine and tangled bedsheets left the nights in a thick haze. Walks on the pier became a ritual, and you eagerly waited for him on the bench underneath the streetlight every evening. Whenever he draped his arm across your shoulders, you knew you had him. After many summers of pining, Minho is finally yours.
You throw his duffel bag into the trunk of his parents’ minivan. Suitcases pile on top of one another, and last-minute miscellaneous items have been shoved into tight corners. For the next nine months, his family’s beach house will sit empty and you’ll drive past it every day when you go to school. It’ll be your only connection to him in your hometown.
“You’ll call me, right?” you ask him. “Being busy with a school isn’t an excuse because I know you don’t do homework.”
“I finished all my summer reading. I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
You groan, eliciting a smile from him. “Call me, okay? I wanna hear all about your fancy high school and your city friends. You never tell me anything. C’mon. It’s not fair at this point.”
“Alright,” he laughs, putting his hands up in defense, “I will. I’ll see you next year.”
Barely audible over the breeze, you say, “I’ll miss you.”
“Here’s something to remember me by then.”
He tosses you a half-empty pack of his signature bubblegum, and you catch it with two hands. You could buy this at any surf shop, but you can’t help but hold it close to your heart. When you wave goodbye to him and his family, the gum burns in your palm, reminding you that he’s still with you. You won’t chew on any of the gum; you’ll leave it in your nightstand drawer, look at it every night, and wonder how why you didn’t kiss Minho sooner.
For two weeks, you wait for him to call you. He sends curt texts every once and while about being busy unpacking or getting ready for his classes, and you reply with updates about your own life. The ice cream parlor’s new seasonal flavors, the mind-numbing chapters you have to read for English, and the seagull you fended off are just a few of the stories you send.
However, you can’t wait forever. You’re so relieved when he picks up.
“Hey! How’ve you been? I missed you.”
Something rustles on his end, muffling his voice. “Hey. Uh, been better, I guess. First week of classes, so you know.”
“Oh, I forgot you start earlier than us. First week isn’t too bad, right? Just syllabi and introductions. So, any plans for a Friday night? If not,” you slyly say, “you can come visit me for the weekend. There’s hardly anyone in town, so we can try all those tourist trap restaurants you wanted to go to.”
“That sounds fun, but I can’t. I'm heading to a party right now, so I’ll call you back?”
You feel yourself wilting but put on a bright voice for him. “Yeah, sure! Tell me everything tomorrow. Have fun.”
He ends the call, and you sink into your mattress. It’s too early to go to bed, but part of you wants to sleep the time away. Instead, you sneak downstairs to the kitchen and pour yourself a cup of red wine. Something light, something to remind yourself of Minho. You scroll on your phone until your eyelids droop and then curl into bed. Your dreams are sweet, ocean waves and Minho kissing you relentlessly.
Even though Minho said he would call tomorrow, your phone vibrates, the name minho lighting up the room.
“Hi,” you whisper, trying to conceal your sleepiness. "How was the party?”
“I got back together with my ex—”
“What?” You didn’t know he had an ex. You never even knew he had dated someone before.
“—so this is it for us. I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to hurt you, but the party and—”
You hang up and stare at the ceiling, now fully awake. Tears well up in your eyes and glide down your cheeks when you blink. Your face grows hot. Are you sad? Embarrassed? Angry? You can’t tell, and that somehow makes everything worse. You loved him for ten years and only had him for June, July, and August.
Only for the summer.
‘CAUSE YOU WEREN’T MINE TO LOSE.

Said is visited by the publishers who tell him the legal battles involved; Said decides to publish Augustus’s boo himself and pay the employees minimum wage; Idzik, posing as a reporter, kills Said
I accidentally started episode 4 instead and had to DIVE for the play controls before McManus announced Said’s death to Emerald City 😅 So she already heard the part that was like "Yesterday, a man came to Oz pretending to be a journalist" and was suspicious when Said went to meet with a supposed reporter at the end of the episode. Whoopsss
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Me: What does Yood get from egging this on? Sister: He gets to keep his companion.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sister: He’s got that prison-itis where he just starts telling everyone his plans. He’s going to die in this episode.
Tumblr media
Sister: No time for hugs! Leave, leave, leave! Get out first and then come back and hug him in the visiting room! Quick! Before the door closes!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sister: Your boy is moving up in the world. Rebelling… Now that he made up with Miguel, it's time for a new leader…
Tumblr media
Sister: Uhh, are they banging? Miss ma’am? What are your fingers doing?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sister: I don’t get it, either… (proceeds to muse for several minutes)
Tumblr media
Sister: Wait, wait, wait. They publicly revealed that Solitary is full of poison and they’re still just putting people in there?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sister: His ideas are getting too big… Something's going to happen. Said: Mentions he's meeting a reporter Sister: NOOOOO... he's going to DIE.....
Stray Thoughts
Sister was impatient to see Beecher leave
Sister thinks Eleanor is Secretly Evil
Final Thoughts Sister: I was wondering why there wasn’t really a Said storyline this season, and it was because now he’s gone forever… I wonder if the writers got lazy and just killed him so they wouldn’t have to figure out what to do about all the legal battles. Damn, and now we won’t get to see Beecher come visit him and hug him in the visiting room… And who will be leader now? Arif? I guess so, but he seems to have control problems. They’re not going to bring a new guy in just to be the leader, because this is season 6. Everything’s falling apart… What are we going to do? What’s the point? Said’s dead…
Sister: The Irish guy (Murphy) got stupider. Me: Ryan? Sister: No, the other one. The guy who just went along with things. Me: Oh, Murphy. Sister: Yeah, maybe. Also, if I worked there and they said that part of my workplace was contaminated, I would not be stepping foot in there. Not only did they know that area was making people sick, but they put people back there and continued to voluntarily step into the space. I’d be pissed. I’d be calling OSHA. Me: Did they mention that they are already fixed the situation and we just forgot? Sister: I don’t think so. I’m pretty sure he just said to keep it hush hush and then stuck them back in Solitary… Sister: Also, if they’re cutting him up in Solitary, how are they supposed to make up an excuse? Don’t they have to take him to the hospital? And they’re cutting his heels, so that’s like a slow torture and they’re all exposed to the contaminants. Like, shouldn’t that one lady be sick, too? The one who keeps going to all of the prisoner’s cells? And she works there? Ooh, is that what the plot is going to be? Retribution at last? Is the lady going to die? Hm… I guess it depends on how the show wants me to feel about them… 20 years later…
Me: Any predictions for the rest of the season? Sister: The lady may or may not die… Mm, I was going to say maybe the prison will close, but they didn’t even close it when it got blown up. They just moved everyone to a different part, so I guess not. Umm… McManus will leave, depending on what happens. The Poet guy may try to take control from Redding, and the telemarketing office is going to do credit card scams…. Miguel? I don’t know… He didn’t really have a storyline this episode, either. Other than being horny. Also, the priest is having some demon plot line… You know, kind of rude of Mr. Reverend to disappear and instead of hanging around on Mr. Priest’s shoulder, he lets the devil ride there instead. He should be coming over like “shoo, shoo, this is my guy”. Like, if you’re supernatural, and the devil is supernatural, then you’re on the same playing field. You could tell him to fuck off, that’s your shoulder. Or, you could send prophetic dreams to him and be like “there is no devil on your shoulder” like the biker dude said. That way Mr Priest isn’t all paranoid, looking at his shoulder and thinking he’s haunted.
Sister: I think Cyril will die. Me: Which episode, do you think? Sister: Episode 5…

so uh litg volume 13 happened..
I still like Hamish, but the spark is gone I'm afraid... I will just blame it on the writing lol
spoilers below and mostly rants, so if you're up for that, read on!
My thoughts on the talent show.. of course it was boring. I just sped through it most of the time. Hamish looked cute with the dog ears, but hhh the dog training part was so weird wtf. I was so shocked like.. 😧😧😧 I mean I think the writers thought it was funny, I guess? I had secondhand embarrassment for Lyn and Hamish, watching it unfold. 😂
The romantic gesture was uh.. it was cute? But.. paper airplanes again?? Really??? And the stuff that LI likes about MC are uh.. I swear they're so banal. I think it was just the merging personality thing because if it was specific for the LI, Hamish's writings on the papers would be something about their whacky shenanigans like the popcorn thing, their random banters and MC being someone that he feels safe to open up to-- not these generic-ass compliments. But yeah, I guess they were lazy to write something that isn't applicable for ALL the LIs 🤷🏻‍♀️
Eddie is still Eddie. I ignored his stinky cheese hair in all the episodes.
Now, I have to talk about the worst part of it all. I don't wanna be fucking reminded of the Sienna thing. It's sooooooo lame. The devs probably thought "oh we're going to make it seem like the s8 thing again where the LI comes in with Sienna BUT the twist is it's actually BELLA who is just the host! No one would expect that! We're going to sUbVeRt their expectations!” All I felt during that part is please get this over with. I don't need this. Get me outta here. End my misery 😭😭😭
Though.. I kinda wish they revealed more about our LI's birth chart. I was actually very curious and that was the only thing that piqued my interest.
Welp.. at least my mc Lyn and Hamish are finally and officially together. That cliffhanger tho ahaha.. just let Lyn say yes already gdi.
It's Season Finale next week. After that, goodbye forever LITG. I still might think about you from time to time. I still might draw something when I get nostalgic, but I will stay away from the game for good.
edit: I forgot to mention that I also hate how they brought Angie into it. What do you mean she and Sienna are besties? SHE WAS MY S4 MC'S BESTIE!! AND SIENNA AS MAID OF HONOUR OVER HER OWN SISTERS??? WHAT DO YOU MEANNN??? Sienna wtf stop stealing everyone. Your birth chart must be so whack 😭

"here"
Sturniolo triplets X reader
SUMMARY: a time in which the triplets are away in Boston, leaving you alone and bored in your single apartment back in LA.
A/N * please lmk if this is terrible .. this will be my first EVERRRR time publishing my writing on the Internet. I've posted back in my Wattpad days during covid.. we don't talk ab that don't ask me 😭 PLEASE GIVE ME TIPS OR CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM I NEEEEED IT BAD. This is also all from one pov lmk if you like just one pov or would like more character povs 🧐🧐 LOWERCASE INTENDED !! ANYWAYS ENOUGH WAFFLING !!!
*PROOFREAD*
*the phone rings three times before the brunette boy on the other side of the state finally answers*
"hello?" his voice is slightly husky, almost tired sounding.
you let out a short sigh, unaware you were holding your breath and speak out a small "hi matt" with a wide smile on your face.
"y/n what are you doing awake, it's like what?" there was a small pause that posed as him thinking "almost midnight?" he finished.
you don't answer for a second due to you lifting your phone from your ear, checking the time that reads *11:56*
"oh" is all you can muster up for a second, before remembering where matt is. "wait... but matt it's literally 3 AM in Boston, why are 𝘺𝘰𝘶 awake?" you ask with a bit of sass laced throughout your words.
you can almost see the cocky expression on the boy's face when he retorts, bearing a nearly equal amount of sass within his speech "uh I'm allowed to be, you on the other hand, are not."
your face twists up with confusion, why would I not be allowed to be up? "what are you on about? why can't I be up?" you reply.
"you have work tomorrow kid" he responds in a matter-of-faclty kind of way that makes you laugh in realization. "OH! -- oh yeah!" you say between little giggles.
"it's just so boring without you guys here!" you reply to yourself. "I've been stuck in my house cleaning for christ sake" you finish, dragging out the vowels in your seventh spoken word.
matt just laughs in response, this causes you to smile to yourself before spitting out a quick "what!" all you hear from the other end of the call is a slight rustling, then footsteps, then a door opening?
you sit and wait for him to respond, a bit confused, but all confusion is wiped from your mind when matt mumbles a sentence, "say hi to y/n nick"
you sit up in your bed excited to hear from another one of your favorite boys. "hi y/n/n!" Nick almost immediately responds before a low "matt just give me phone" matt must've complied because now you were hearing nicks voice instead of the previous boys.
"hi Nick! wha'dya doing?" You say giddy to hear from him. he laughs and you hear a bit of rustling before he replied, "oh nothing right now, but can I tell you about what we did earlier?" he sounded just as equally excited to talk to you.
you both went on and on about the Boston aquarium, and the penguins and Matt's "stupid turtle hat" Nick said. all for about fifteen minutes before you heard nicks door being swung open, and loud running feet came towards nicks direction.
you heard a bit of incoherent mumbling before Nick sighed and said "y/n, Chris says it's his turn to talk to you, so I gotta go. but I'll definitely text you later okay?" you bid him goodbye and Chris started up a new conversation about his annoyance with fortnite at the moment. "the star wars packs have been in the item shop for I dont even know how long, like forever I guess. but I can't get the fucking Don Toliver emote anymore? this shits crazy."
you listened to him rant about this season and how it's apparently "trash" (?) for about 20 minutes before he asks "do you want matt back? he came in here wanting to know if u wanted to talk to him yet"
you smiled at the somewhat cute gesture and after a few seconds of thinking you replied back with a "if your done talking shit about this game then yeah, pass me back please" Chris just laughed and you heard a "here" it sounded kind of far away as if he had the phone streched with his arm, handing it back to matt.
"okay I'm back now, hope your not bored anymore 'cuz you need to go to sleep now." Matt's voice seeped through your speakers in your phone as he spoke. all you did was groan and flop back on your bed, you're sure he heard it because he laughed and said "c'mon y/n get to bed, it's so late."
"Matt I'll be fine just-" you were cut off by Matt's voice, once again, telling you to go to sleep. once you finally let up and told him you'd go to bed he responded with a proud "good, you're gonna thank me in the morning I promise"
you both bid your good nights, and the phone was handed to both of the two other triplets for a few seconds each to also wish each other goodnight.
after the call ended you were feeling happier than you have the whole week they'd been in Boston. You got yourself ready for bed, brushing your teeth, washing your face, and changing into more sleep appropriate attire before crawling back into the same sheets you've been tirelessly tossing around in for days, finally falling asleep, happy and content.
A/N * ERM guys what the fart just happened. I feel so strange posting this 😭 please lmk if you have any recommendations for my writing or even future fics 🫡🫡 anyways, bye crayzies 💜💜

X-men 97 thoughts so far...
Gonna give one spoiler warning....
.....
.........
.........
Why? Because if reviewers haven't spoiled it, most youtubers have dozens of dozens of clips. Literally no point in me saying it much....
Sooo... that pretty much it....
.....
...........................
.....Spoiler warning....ends.......
............................................now....(Also warning I do not have a Disney+ account. I'm on a budget I'm relying on clip unfortunately)
So my thoughts initially when I was hesitant to really look at it. Not so much because Disney owns this now. Its just been a long time. I kinda quit watching the original cartoon I wanna say before the last two seasons.
First ep didn't really grab me. At first the animation turned me off. I can't give a definitive reason why. Just something about when they first talked. And also.... did everyone suddenly get paler? oO No I'm not accusing them of whitewashing Storm. I'm referring to in general. I mean even Magneto looks a bit bleached.
It at best seemed decent. Ep 2 was shown and I was intrigued to see Magneto was apparently in Charles will and just gave him everything. Either he loved/had faith in Magneto more than he showed or just dang he pulled a 180 as they say. Lol I kid, I do think Xavier did all that out of good faith.
That one grabbed my attention a lot more. To see Magneto struggle against what he's use to. To try and be better for Xavier and the X-men. I admit seeing Storm lose her powers was a shocker. But I don't believe she'll stay human forever.
As hard as it is sometimes to see the other side. The show did actually attempt to show a pov for humans. (And no not referring to friends of humanity group). Its just a youtber pointed it out, that although Storm was protecting Magneto, yeah through a humans' eyes the powers could look more terrifying. And although it was stupid of the doctor to refuse aid to Madelyne (Jean's clone, sorry warned earlier on spoilers).
I've watched enough hero shows to see... the doc had a point. DC's Ace accidentally killed her parent as a baby. Cyclops has had accidents. So the fear wasn't totally without cause. Still cool though that Rogue could absorb medical knowledge and the nurses complied.
Enjoyed Wolverine's face when she said the baby was coming. Baby Nathan was cute. And the monologue Magneto gave the UN was really well done.
Ep 3 came and well wasn't entirely shocked the Jean, Cylcops had a baby with would turn out to be her clone. I dunno if it was everyone guessing or the comic reference. Hmm for me it was her face in the background. I swear Madelyne looked more angry than shocked.
And also dang that was good moment to show us they could let go of some restraints. Besides the excellent animation in both their fears being shown and Goblin Queen's fight with X-men and Magneto. And I'm gonna say it... Jean's talk with Wolverine. Very sweet moment, it made me a Jean/Logan shipper. And I recall as a kid I wasn't really into it.
Though will it happen... dunno. Probably not. But I wouldn't be entirely against it. Especially watching that whole ep. Just neither one can remember when they got switched. Just awkwarddddddddd. And while it was sad Cyclops had to say goodbye to his baby, granted I had not read the comics but was told enough to know it was gonna happen. Changed obviously but cartoons does their own thing.
Ep 4 was okay, Jubilee's okay but stuff with Mojo was never my thing. I just enjoyed it when her and Roberto finally became an item. Super cute. Though surprised that the X-men just basically bent over when Magneto said "no" to Jubilee's birthday wish. I mean granted yes he owns their group?/or home. But they all literally wanted to enjoy/and give Jubilee a birthday party. Just surprised not even Wolverine offered to take them out.
Storm's arc was so far ok(waiting for part 2 to full give opinion). Felt sorry for her the entire time cause she clearly missed her powers. And was a bit surprised Forge made those weapons... (dunno if thats a direct ref to the comics).
Then on to ep 5... the one I think so far has clearly blown our minds. I'm not gonna lie part of me saw what happened with Genosha coming because I follow people who explain comic history. So moment the place was mentioned I thought "oh boy what are they gonna do". I am a bit surprised Cable attempted to stop it. Or warn others of it? Sooo... is Madelyne dead? Went to fast to show if she survived.
Action scenes were intense to say the least. Not gonna lie I will be super pissed if they killed off Remy just so Rogue can run back to Magneto. Yes I know what the robot said and everyone's all "Magneto's dead".... but considering how this ended I wouldn't be surprised if he's shown alive later. Guess just a bit surprised people died in general. I mean its not Invincible level but you get the idea still surprising.
Any personal notes... okay what I liked. Voice acting's good, glad they got back the original actors, animation, music even pretty good, some of the story has done fairly well. I like some of the new characters.. I mean I guess.. its been 5 episodes I can't say there's been a lot. All of the cameos and easter eggs.
Anything I don't like...the love drama. Cyclops love rectangle(had to add Wolverine). Not sure were the writers are planning to go with this. And Emma Frost is here, as a character I dunno. But her role with Cyclops I DO remember. Please people don't add more. Lol. After this ep I can already see his variables. One, Madelyne's alive and he choses her. Two, Madelyne's dead and he wants Jean back as a rebound; though she's clearly in my opinion should be given space instead of being asked to choose whom to love right now. Or three she's hurt and he drags his feet in between both. Which sucks.
Honestly although I know Logan turned Jean down. I would prefer Jean go "I need space". She finds her space and she just asks Logan on a date. Just to see where it goes.
Then there's the one I REALLY didn't ask for Rogue/Magneto/Gambit. Yes I know this was in the comics but even then I didn't like it. But onto the show version. Don't like it cause there was no hint of it in the series. And secondly felt like the story was trying to give us Rogue/Gambit as a couple. So to see them trying to find their footing and then shoehorn this love triangle in was EXHAUSTING. I mean I love Magneto as a character both hero/antihero and villain. But I don't ship him with Rogue. He's old enough to be her grandfather and the animation doesn't really do well of hiding it either. He's a cool grandpa but still grandpa to me.
AND yes I know this is a revival. But even their attempts to give it justification felt off. Their background made it more awkward. I'm giving my opinion to be clear. You don't like it don't read it. From what I can tell Rogue was kicked out as a teen. And according to the wiki she was 13.
She met Magneto (according to this revival ) sometime after Mystique took her in. What time? I admit it doesn't say. Given how she's in her mid 20s in the show. We still have to assume she was still a teenager when they met.
Again can't give a precise age besides the fact that it was vague on purpose. Secondly, the animators made her look her 20s age even when she met Magneto. And I'm not buying that. I get it they're attempting to not make this triangle so out of the blue.
But doing it like this now and then I'm gonna be blunt watching his actions/and that dance felt wayyyy more predatory than it did romantic. At least Wolverine wouldn't put Jean on the spot so he could get into her pants. I mean come on writers Magneto could literally have ANYONE else without making it feel predatory BD;.
I'll say it again, I will be PISSED if Gambit is killed and Magneto lives. And just so we can push a may/December romance NOBODY asked for. And at Gambit's expense.
Thats it. I'll write my opinions when the rest of the eps are shown. Later till then!

Olay I finally watched Outlander 7x07 and oh my God it was so good!!!! This whole season has been so good!
MASSIVE SPOILERS FOR BOTH 7X07 AS WELL AS FUTURE PLOTLINES CAUSE I REFERENCE BOOKS PLOTS THAT THE SHOW HASN'T DONE YET!
I think it's kinda funny but the same thing is happening to me with the show as it did with the books in which I am much more into Bree and Roger's story than I am Jamie and Claire. Not that I don't love them cause I do and I do very much enjoy their plots but it's not exactly new. Another war, another goodbye, more lovely lovely yeah seen that already. But Bree and Roger's plots are so interesting and I still find myself so intrigued by their show story line as much as I was by the book plot.
I'm thrilled to finally see more positivity around Roger this season. Any time I go on Twitter or Instagram, even Facebook, I'm finally seeing people be kind to Roger. And I am LOVING IT! Finally! I've been so alone in the loving Roger corner of Outlander. If be so happy if this season finally brought some others over.
But okay so this episode. I'm just gonna spe some random thoughts
More Roger in a kilt! Woohoo!!! So handsome. I love it.
It drives me crazy that the show opted to not include Roger's struggle with his voice or even a scar on his throat since it plagues him forever. But I guess I get it cause this way Richard doesnt have to be hoarse forever and I got to hear him sing again so....I guess I can't be too mad lol.
The new actor for Buck is so good. I really enjoyed every scene he was in and how Roger and Bree and the kids all reacted to him showing up. I love that they had a conversation about Buck and Roger being family. I looove that Roger got to punch the crap out of him for both scaring his kids but also for TRYING TO KILL HIM!! I wish Roger's ptsd was shown a little more though. Lile, the hanging severely affected him and the show continues to gloss over it. Like, one conversation and Roger's forgiven him and calling him cousin Buck? Come on. Stupid episode constraints.
Every time Rob was on screen I got so angry lol. Just knowing what he's up to and what he is gonna do. Argh I hate him. When he started to talking to Jem I internally screamed "GET THE FUCK AWAY FROM HIM!" This meme was all I could think of to properly express myself.
Anyway fuck Rob Cameron.
Just a little thing but all the family moments with Bree, Roger, Jem and Mandy were perfect and I love them so much. So much.
The Bree Roger steamy scene!!! What!! Okay at first I laughed cause of the song choice but I love that song unironically and I love Bree and Roger so I ended up thinking that scene was super nice.
Bree and Roger belong in the 1980s. They belong in modern times and I fucking hate that they go back to the 18th century and stay there. I hate it. I mean I love Roger going back to find Jemmy and the angst of the whole ending of the episode was so raw and good and I loved it. But it reminded me that they all go back and eeeeennhggh I hate it. So much. I want Bree to be with her parents again but she and Roger don't belong in that time. Not like Claire does. They both are much more suited for the 1980s and are amd can be so much happier then. Roger and teach and be a historian and take care of the house. Bree cam be a boss and an engineer. They have cars and electricity and modern medicine and ARGJ they just belong in that time!
Okay let me talk about Claire, Jaime and William bow cause I also have thoughts. Mostly about William. I got a lot of William thoughts because Charles Vandervaart KILLED IT!
Omg casting Charles was such a good choice! I know Charles from Murdoch Mysteries where he played John Brackenreid and I always loved when he was in an episode. I didn't even know he got cast as William until like a week before the premiere amd I saw an image of him comparing him to a pic of Jamie. First of all, holy shot they look so alike it's scary. Secondly he is such a good actor! I couldnt wait to see how he'd play William!
And in this episode he really shined! From the eager to prove himself young inexperienced officer to the first time he truly sees the horrors of the battlefield. I love how the show continues to give William opportunities to show the audience how kind hearted and honorable he is. Like giving his friend and his horse the apple. Helping the soldiers to dig the mass grave, literally getting into the trenches himself, so that his fellow soldiers, including his friend, will have a proper burial. I love it.

✏︎
it had been three days. neither of them had texted or called, she didn’t even come to the game the night before to cheer him on. it had been the first game she’d missed since she had strep early last season.
today, she had woken up to a text from trevor. there was no context, just a simple ‘???’. she understood, there wasn’t much context needed. she ignored it, opting to go on with her day as if nothing was happening. then, trevor called her.
she couldn’t even get a word in before he was yelling in her ear. “yeah, jamie’s here, you wanna say hi?” her eyes shot open, and she didn’t have time to hang up before she heard jamie’s voice over the phone.
“hey, trevor’s grandma?” she wanted to laugh, but she couldn’t, nothing came out but a sad, quiet ‘hi’
“oh,” he murmured softly, the static of the phone taking over in both of their ears until she built up the courage to say something.
“this was a mistake,” she then immediately hung up, not really wanting to hear anything he had to say, if he could even bring himself to say it. when the line went dead, jamie frowned to himself and then glared at trevor, having told him in confidence what happened between the two of them.
“what the fuck, man,” he threw trevor’s phone into his lap and shook his head, walking back over to his room.
trevor groaned, yelling after him with a shout of his name. “you can’t fucking avoid her forever, jamie,” jamie’s bedroom door slammed shut at that, and trevor didn’t bother to continue, it was no use.
he decided if he couldn’t get through to jamie, he would try her again. he called her, and it was declined immediately. he continued to try, and she finally picked up on the fifth time around.
“that was a dick move, trevor. give me a reason to stay on the line” trevor let out a dry laugh, earning a scoff from her on the other side of the phone.
“i deserve that, i guess. but you can’t be that mad. he told me what happened, i don’t know what he expected me to do” she put him on speaker phone and tossed her phone onto her bed, running her hands over her face roughly in frustration.
“why are you calling me, trev?” he wasted no time with his answer
“come over, i think you just need to talk it out” she laughed, shaking her head into her hands. trevor never really was one for anxious feelings or worry of any kind. had he been in this situation, facing it head on would be a spectacular idea. for her and jamie, though? neither of them had the confidence.
“we need to talk it out? is that what you think? jesus christ, trevor. just pretend he never told you and stop trying. stop calling, too. drop it” she picked her phone back up from her covers, ready to hang up on him, when he spoke back up.
“he’s only avoiding you because he wishes you’d never left. that morning. he thinks you regret what happened, and that’s why you left while he was still asleep” her jaw clenched, thumb moving away from the red button on her screen and knees coming up to her chest.
“i regret it cause he does, too. i left so it wouldn’t be awkward because he doesn’t want that with me” trevor shook his head, even though she couldn’t see it
“come talk to him. he’ll prove me right. he never reached out cause he was upset that you left” the line went dead, and she was just staring at trevor’s contact on her phone, her face hidden in her knees and her eyes watering.
did she really fuck this up on the assumption that he didn’t want her? could they have been together by now if she’d just said goodbye? stayed with him?
she felt like she was in someone else’s body while she made her way to her car, and then over to jamie and trevor’s place. she was hardly conscious while driving, like she was on autopilot, it was a wonder she knew to stop at red lights and stop signs.
when trevor opened the door she’d never seen him look so relieved, but she was just staring into the distance, zoned out and thinking about how stupid she felt. how she would feel if this all ended up being her fault.
trevor knocked on jamie’s bedroom door for her, earning a prompt reply of ‘fuck off’ from his roomate, but he continued to knock until jamie was so annoyed he swung his door open with a glare.
when he saw her, his lips parted and he furrowed his eyebrows. trevor patted him on the shoulder and walked away, allowing them some privacy.
“was this a mistake?” jamie pulled her into his room, closing his door. she was on the verge of tears and her words came out as a whisper.
he sighed when he heard it, looking exasperated.
“not for me” her heart both swelled and broke, his words serving as a confirmation that had she just stayed in his arms a few more hours that morning, everything would’ve been fine.
she wiped a tear from her cheek, and he hugged her close, his nose pushing into her hairline.
“i’m sorry, j” she whispered again, crying into his chest. he shook his head, letting his eyes fall shut and his hand rub soothing patterns on her back.
“no, don’t be. we should’ve talked before we fell asleep, i chose not to do that, i didn’t want to think about it” she gripped his shirt, keeping him close to her and letting out a choked sob.
“i could’ve had you if i stayed” she looked up at him, face tear stained and red.
“you can still have me now, angel,”

I Like You - Part 5
Sadie Sink x Reader
Tumblr media
Masterlist
Part 4
"Y/N!" A voice yells from behind me. I turned around to see Sadie and Finn sprinting towards me. My eyes widen as Finn tackles me into a hug, Sadie doing the same once she reaches me. "Hey guys." I mumble into Finn's shoulder as he's holding me so tight that I can't move my mouth from there. So I'm stuck practically eating his jacket. "Are you guys going to let me go now?" I ask finally able to twist my head out of his shoulder but groan as I meet Sadie's shoulder. "No." They both say at the same time and they continue to hold me in their arms for what seems like hours which turned out to be less than a minute. "It's been forever since we've seen you and all we get is a groan." Sadie says pouting making me open my mouth to speak up but that's when my stomach grumbles and speaks up for me. "Ahh, she's hungry." Finn says smirking as Sadie speaks up. "Slept in?" She asks as I groan and walk away from them. "The table's this way." Sadie says grabbing my hand and pulling me in the opposite direction. Finn begins to follow us but then a voice calls out his name. "Shit. I have to go. Y/N. I'll find you when you're done." He says pointing at me and waves us goodbye before jogging to the person that called him over.
As we reach the table I grab a plate and begin filling it up. "Y/N! Sadie!" Two familiar voices call out before I feel arms wrap around my waist and a head on my shoulder. "Oh hey Millie." I say smiling as I around to look at her. "Y/N." She says dragging out my name. "Y/N!" another voice yells yanking Millie away from me to put themself in her position. "Noah." I say smiling amusedly as he sheepishly smiles. "Y/N." He replies making me laugh. "Get ready for filming!" A voice calls out grabbing our attention. "I guess we'll see you when they announce the winners." I smirk as I move to Sadie and grab her hand and pull her along behind me as I put an apple in my mouth.
"I'm Y/N L/N." "And I'm Sadie Sink." "And we're doing the best friend test." I say as I lift Sadie's hand into the air making her smile before speaking up. "And Noah and Millie will also be completing a friendship test so we will see who's really best friends." She says making me nod. "This isn't even a competition. We have time on them." I hear Millie say from the other room making me call furrow my eyebrows. "We still have a better friendship Millie!" I call out making me hear a laugh from both Sadie and Millie. "Y/N!" Sadie says as she slaps me."Well it's true." I say making her shake her head. "The first challenge is trust falls." the girl says making me pump a fist in the air as I hear Millie and Noah groan. "They'll win this challenge." Millie says as I hear Noah agree with her. "No one can beat Y/N in trust falls that was like her thing on set. Like even from season 1. I think the first day we met we did one." I hear Noah say making us laugh. "Really?" Sadie asks making me laugh again. "Yeah, I did it with everyone. Didn't we do one on your first day of set?" I ask making her think. "Oh my God. I think we did." Sadie says as her eyes widen in realisation. "Okay come on. We're off to a good start." I say as Sadie turns her back on me. "Sadie do you trust her?" A producer asks making her smile. "Absoulutely." She says making me smile widely.
"You ready?" I ask as I get into position. "Of course." She says before I begin the countdown. "Alright. 3. 2. 1." I say before she falls back into my arms and I push her back up. "Wait. That one was bad. Let's do it again." I say making her shake her head with a smile as she turns her back on me once more. I take a step back to try and catch her from as low as possible. "Now." I say making her lean back. I catch her and slowly bring her back up. "See. I'm too good." I say making her and a few people behind the cameras crack a smile. "Your turn." Sadie says making my eyes widen. "What?" I ask as my jaw drops. "You don't trust me? Worried I'm going to drop you?" Sadie asks with a teasing smile. I groan before turning away from her and prepare myself to fall back on her. "Anytime now." She says, amusement laced in her voice. "You better catch me." I say as I shut my eyes tightly and bite my lip. "I promise." I hear her voice say a second before I fall back. She catches me and I let out a breath of relief. "Thank you God." I say as I put a hand over my heart. "Oh come on. I'm not that bad." She says making me laugh which in return makes her scoff. "Wow. I see how it is." She says making me laugh. "These needed to be answered fast. Are you ready?" One of the producers asked making me nod. "What is your friend's favourite snack on set?" The person asks making me answer in less than a heartbeat. "Seaweed crackers." I say making her nod with wide eyes. "I do love those. Oh, um, wait, I know this. Oh! Those chocolates. They're biscuits that are coated with chocolates. They're, T. They start with a T." She says as she struggles to think of the name.
"TimTams?" I ask making her nod. "Yes! TimTams!" She says making me nod. "Those are the ones. I won't leave the country without some in my bag. Shawn actually gave me a whole box of them on the first day of filming and left a note that said 'For good luck!' During one of the more serious scenes he came up to me before we began filming and said 'I had those brought from the other side of the world for you so I wanna see an emmy-worthy performance.'" I say as I think back to the moment. Sadie laughs as she remembers. "He went up to her later and congratulated her on the performance." She says making me speak up. "So when you watch the show and hopefully get emotional from the scene. I want you to remember that I put my heart and soul into that. So I better be getting even more when we begin filming next season." I say making her shake her head as she laughs. "How will they know what scene you're talking about?" One of the producers asks me, making Sadie and I look at each other before we burst out in laughter. “I promise you'll know when you see it." I say making Sadie speak up. “Guaranteed.” Sadie says as the producer nods before asking the next question. "Is your friend a morning or a night person?" She asks making Sadie and I laugh. "Sadie's an early bird. Her bedtime on set was 9:30." I say making her roll her eyes before they widen. "Wait! Hang on. I stayed up a ton of nights. Remember?" She asks making me look at her confused. She rolls her eyes before leaning into my ear. "I slept in your bed. I stayed up until like 12 one night." She whispers into my ear making me roll my eyes. "Sorry guys. One night her bedtime was at 12." I smirk, which makes her mimic my previous expression. "At least I didn't fall asleep on set." She says making me scoff and laugh. "Damn. You got me there." I say making her smirk proudly. "Thank you Glamour for having us." I say as Sadie nods her head.
A few days later I get in the car to go to the Jimmy Fallon show. As we pull up I greet the other members and before we go out and take seats. Finn was on my right and Sadie was on my left. "So in honor of having you all here and since we haven't seen each other in what. Almost three years? So today we're playing a game first, and then we'll answer some questions." He says as all of us nod and he stands up guiding us towards the stage. "So they're mini games. Sadie and Y/N you're up first since Y/N was pretty smitten with you the last time I saw you guys." Jimmy says making me put my face in my hands as I laugh. "This game is truth or eat. We've decided to hook you up to a lie detector because Y/N you said you've always wanted to try one. So your wish is granted." He says giving me a smirk as I laugh and look at the disgusting food on the table as a few people hook us up to lie detectors. "Pull an envelope." Jimmy says pointing at the stack of letters. I picked the letter with the number 14 on the front. I opened it and read the question out loud. "Favourite cast member?" I say as Sadie releases a breath of relief. "Oh, Y/N obviously." Sadie says making Millie speak up. "We all know why." Millie says making the other cast members snicker. We all laugh as Jimmy looks around confused. "Wait, what happened? Someone want to tell me what just happened?" He says making Sadie and I laugh harder. "You better tell me later." He says pointing at Noah as he laughs and nods. "Alright. Number 11. It says have you had your first kiss, and if so, when?" She says as a smile plays on her lips as I lick mine nervously. "Yes. I have." I say making the other cast members nod and smile at each other knowingly. "And when was it?" Gaten asks with a teasing smile making me roll my eyes.
"2021." I say as the others laugh and nod in agreement, but then the person reading my lie detector results speaks up. "She's lying." He calls out making all of their eyes widen and gasp as they walk over. "What? Who?" Finn asks, and he runs over to the man with the results. His eyes widen as he looks at the results. He goes to say something but then his eyes quickly glance at Sadie then back to me, and he scoffs, a small smile playing on his lips. "Is it who I think it is?" He asks me as he raises an eyebrow. I bit my lip, trying to hide my nervous smile. The man reading the lie detector speaks up again. "Her heart beating faster signals that you have an accurate guess." Finn scoffs again and lets out a chuckle as he shakes his head. "Wow. Didn't know you had game since you were 14.' He says making me laugh. "Oh please. You had your first kiss when you were 13, at least I was 14." I say making him laugh and shake his head as he walks back to the others. "Now I need to know." Jimmy says as he looks around for someone to answer him. They all laugh and shake their heads which causes him to groan in frustration. "This isn't fair." He whines making us laugh. As I threw my head back in laughter, I felt another hand slip into my hand underneath the table. My smile slightly enlarges as I feel her give it a little squeeze and I see her smiling brightly at me. I feel my face heat up and that's when I notice Finn smirking at me and he raises an eyebrow as he looks me up and down as if he could tell what was happening underneath the table.
“Last question.” Jimmy says as I go to grab a card. “Oh this one’s easy.” I say as I read the card. “Show your iPhone wallpapers.” I say looking up to see her eyes widen and her mouth slightly drop. She looks down and winces as she stares at the disgusting foods. “Wait what? What are you doing?” I ask as she looks up at me nervously. “I can’t show it.” She whispers only loud enough for me to hear as I lean over the table. “Why?” I ask making her look at her phone before picking it up and handing it to me as she looks away as I take hold of it. I tap the screen and it lights up. Her lockscreen being the photo millie and Noah took of us when we were tangled in each others arms on the bed after my first night of arriving in Atlanta. I raise my eyebrows and smile creeps up on my features as I say her name. Her cheeks flush as she turns to me. I laugh as I hand the phone back to her and she unlocks the phone and give it back to me again. Her home screen was another picture of us. Except this one I hadn’t seen before. During the break between filming season 4 and the premiere of season 4 I had travelled a few countries and I had met up with Sadie after a few months of traveling alone. We met up in Paris, Noah also happened to be there so he joined us on our first night there. We had booked a hotel that had an amazing view from the balcony and I presume Noah had taken the photo since it was only us 3 there. The background of the photo was slightly blurred, it was just the lights going slightly diagonal. The Eiffel Tower was as clear as day and you could see us very clearly. We were on a balcony eating dinner and I was leaning on my hand smiling as I looked at Sadie who was laughing in the photo. Covering her mouth with her hand. I look up to see her already looking at me. Her cheeks slightly flushed as I smile even wider trying to contain a laugh from slipping out.
As I hand her back the phone and I grab an awful looking sandwich and quickly shove it in my mouth. I wince as the smell of the food enters my nostrils and the taste of it in my mouth. “Y/N!” Sadie yells as her eyes widen as I chew slowly, my nose scrunched up in disgust as I feel like puking. I look behind her to see everyone scrunching their faces. I swallow and grab the glass of water next to me and swash it around in my mouth in attempts to get rid of the taste. I spit it out in the bucket next to me and repeat it. “What a disgusting end to the game. Y/N takes the fall for Sadie. Let’s give them a round of applause.” Jimmy yells as he pats me on the back as I go to take a seat on the couch. “Don’t worry I’m prepared for when call me a bad host.” Jimmy says making me crack a smile as Finn laughs as walks with Jimmy to the stage. I watch as the begin playing but then I’m tapped on the shoulder. “Did you need the bathroom?” A lady on set asked me as I nod and begin to follow her with my hand clutched onto my stomach.
The lady had handed me some mints and mouthwash in attempts to help me get rid of the awful taste. I thank her and begin using the mouthwash. As I swash it around in my mouth I hear the door open making me look in the direction of the door through the mirror. Sadie’s head peaks in and when she notices me she walks into the bathroom completely. “You know you didn’t have to do that for me.” She says smiling nervously as she holds my arm with one hand and the other runs up and down my arm. I smile before I spit out the mouthwash. “It’s fine. I think the only problem is that nobodies gonna wanna kiss me.” I say teasingly as I take more mouthwash into my mouth. I look at her through the mirror and she raises an eyebrow at me. “You sure?” She asks teasingly as I spit it out once more and throw some mints in my mouth before I turn around to face her. “Of course.” I say as if it was obvious. “Are you sure cause I really wanna kiss you.” She says as she stares at my lips before she smiles nervously and looks up at me once she finishes the sentence. I feel my cheeks heat up as I reach up to rub the back of my neck. “Really?” I ask as I look away quickly before turning back to see her eyes at my lips again. She doesn’t respond and just leans closer to me. Closing the small gap between us. My eyes shut as my hands move to hold her waist as her hands fly to my neck and as I try to make a move to pull away for air she doesn’t let me and just pulls me even closer than before. Once she does pull away my eyes are wide and her cheeks are flushed as nervously smiles. “Wow.” Is all that comes out of my mouth making me feel like an idiot. She smiles and raises an eyebrow as my hand goes up to rub the back of my neck again. “Wow.” I mumble once more as I try to process what happened. It’s not that I’ve never kissed her it’s just that it felt different. It might’ve been our circumstances or it might’ve been cause we’ve grown or my feelings have grown but whatever that was, was bloody amazing.
Part 6

I See You | Din Djarin x Male Reader
Tumblr media
Fandom: Star Wars, The Mandalorian Pairing: Din Djarin x male!reader Summary: Din returns to his husband after Grogu’s departure.
WARNING: This has spoilers for the finale of season 2 of the Mandalorian! You have been warned.
As the Slave One flew towards the landing pad, Din could only think about the Razor Crest and how it felt to land her right there knowing he was home. He wouldn’t be doing that anymore, he wouldn’t be able to. The Razor Crest was gone...and so was Grogu.
Din tried not to think of it. The Razor Crest being gone hurt him greatly, he had that ship for years. Pretty much since he went out to become a bounty hunter. It was part of his armor, part of him...and now that part was gone.
Of course, the Razor Crest wasn’t the only thing that was gone. Along with his ship, Grogu was gone as well. The little womp rat stole his heart and had taken it with him. He had tried his best to get Grogu back from Gideon, he hadn’t expected a Jedi to show up and take Grogu away from him so fast. He understood it was important for Grogu to be with someone who knew how to train him, but it still hurt. He barely had time to say goodbye.
“We’re here.” Boba Fett’s voice spoke out.
The sound of the ship's engine died down a bit. Din saw the house not too far from the landing pad. He hadn’t been there in a few weeks. His home. Din stood from the seat, Boba and Fennec following him to the ramp.
“Thank you.” Din said, turning to the pair. “For all your help. You didn’t need to help me, but you did. I won’t forget it.”
Boba nodded. “Only returned a favor.” Boba then reached out his hand. “You’ll always have an ally here.”
“Thank you.”
Fennec nodded at him. “I’m sorry things didn’t end the way you wanted them to. I know you weren’t expecting to lose him again so soon.”
Din was quiet for a moment before nodding. “Yeah.” He turned to the house in front of him before turning back to the pair. “Thank you again.” With that, he walked down the ramp and towards the house. As he walked he heard the engines of the Slave One powering up again. He heard the ship flying off and far away from them. He was alone again.
As he walked towards the front door of the house, he passed by a large garden that was growing lots of different types of fruits and vegetables. He heard the sound of animals in the distance. After walking for what seemed like forever he reached the front door. He pressed his hand to the scanning pad and heard the door unlock with a clink.
Din then took a breath before stepping inside.
The moment Din stepped inside of the house he instantly calmed. The inside was warm. Both in temperature and spirit. They had worked hard to make this place a home and it was showing now. Speaking of the other person who helped make this home with Din…
The man walked out of a room into the living room. He was busy looking at a datapad and hadn’t noticed Din just yet. Din smiled underneath his helmet. There was his husband. “M/n.” Immediately, the man looked up from the tablet and broke into a bright smile. “Din.” He rushed at the Mandalorian, crashing into him with a tight hug. Din was quick to hug his husband back. “I missed you.”
“I missed you too.” Din said back to him.
M/n pulled back before looking down and around the floor. “I’m guessing by the absence of a little green baby...you found a Jedi?”
Din went quiet and nodded. “Yeah. I did.”
M/n gave him a small smile and gently rubbed his arm. “It’ll be okay. He’ll never forget you, and you’ll never forget him.” M/n let go of his husband's arm and began walking back. “Now...let me make you something to eat you must be starving.”
Din watched M/n walk towards the kitchen, as he did, he wondered if he should do the thing he's always thought about doing for M/n. M/n had never brought it up. He knew it was part of Din’s code and had always respected him for it. But Din knew his husband wanted to see him. He’d already done it twice very recently, his code was already broken...why not do it for M/n?
Without thinking any more on the subject Din moved his hands up to his helmet. He would be lying if he said it didn’t scare him, but this is M/n. His husband. He wouldn’t make things difficult for Din. Then just like that, his helmet was off.
“So what are you in the mood for? I can make Shaak, Kaadu, anything you wa-” M/n stopped as he took in the sight of his husband's face. A face he’s only caught glances of from reflections and from the side. “Din…”
“M/n. I had to take my helmet off to help Grogu.” Din thought of the first time he had to take his helmet off in the Imperial Refinery. Then the time he took it off when he said goodbye to Grogu...and all the people that saw his face. His code was already broken, but did the code really matter? “I don’t want to hide my face anymore. Not from you.”
M/n smiled and let out a huffed laugh before walking closer and holding Din’s head in his hands. He let his fingers trace every line of the man’s face, taking in every inch of him. Din brought his own gloved hands up to hold his husband’s face. It was clear, unlike looking through a visor he was able to see M/n clearly.
“I see you.” M/n said with a smile.
“I see you too.”

Well, I watched the episode and I have feelings. Mixed ones. It's clear that the idea of Tim proposing to Ashley made Lucy uneasy, and maybe caused some confusing emotions. So, there's that. Great, a step forward. Wonderful. Now, as someone who loves the idea of Lucy and Tim together, I choose to view Tim's look of discomfort before saying "yeah, I can" as him having those exact confusing emotions Lucy was having. However, a casual, non-fan of Chenford might view it as Tim being nervous about his relationship with Ashley in general, and committing to her so early. And I wouldn't blame them at all. It could also be interpreted like that. I guess the fake-out/prank was in theme with their characters, but it didn't work for me. I would've really appreciated it, writers, if Tim looked at Lucy and his smile dropped for a second because of what he saw on her face. A frown that implies he was confused, too, as they stared at each other. Lucy finally questioning herself and why the whole thing bothered her in the first place. Tim wondering why she had that crestfallen look on her face, and both of them asking why she pushed the whole marriage thing so damn hard. Because honestly, Lucy, the first time you go on vacation with someone means you want to marry them? Not everyone is Wopez. It's a big step, sure. But it doesn't suggest a proposal during that trip. I'm totally with Tim on this one. So, I think with Lucy, the pieces are finally moving. Painstakingly slow, but they're moving. I was still left with this feeling of not enough. It's just not enough. After four seasons, there needs to be more. More, so that it actually makes sense when and if they get together. I don't know, dude, it's just how I feel. I need a little more than this, that's all. I believe most of us predicted one thing though, and it was Ashley mentioning she doesn't want to get married and have kids. And I kinda dreaded it. I don't mind them showing that they're incompatible. But I just hate it so much when writers do that to end a relationship on a show to get the main couple together. As though, if Ashley wanted those things, Tim would be with her forever. I want Tim to leave Ashley because he chooses to. Regardless of what Ashley, or any other potential romantic partner, wants. He wouldn't want to have these things with them, anyway. Because he's in love with Lucy. Plain and simple. And oh, silly me, I'm still looking forward to the finale. But that's only because I love seeing Chenford on screen in any way I can. They seem to be leaning into Lucy realizing her feelings first, and I hope they do it right going on to season five. As for the finale itself, I'm expecting nothing, and I actually don't want anything super major to happen–it's not the right time. I think with the "I just wanna say" scene, Tim kinda looks sad/upset, so maybe she's going away on an assignment, that would be great. Or I think, and I hope, it's because Lucy won't be his Aide anymore, and that's their goodbye-ish scene. Or, you know, it's absolutely nothing at all.

One year ago today...
On November 19th, 2020, I said goodbye to a show that I never thought would leave me.
And now, a year later, I feel so lucky to say that it still hasn't.
From the minute I joined the fandom, I knew that Supernatural was something special. A part of that was how funny, heartwarming, and all around beautiful the show itself was, but ultimately, there was so much more to it than that.
Supernatural is special not because of the show, but because of its family. Because of the cast, the crew, the fans, and everyone in between, Supernatural still has a voice today.
There's been a lot of drama in the last year. I can't deny that. The in-fighting over the finale has left me heartbroken more times than I can count, and the metaphorical "Season 16" that has been circling through the internet has had so many highs and lows that I've wanted to log off more times than seems necessary.
But I never did, and I'm still here, as are so many others. And that's insane to me.
It's crazy to me that something that causes so much drama and emotional turmoil somehow also still creates so much love and appreciation in the depths of it all.
It's crazy to me that while so many people shout how much they hate the show, the writers, the cast, and everything in between, there are just as many people shouting how much they love and appreciate everything that the show has created.
It's crazy to me that so many people in this fandom can go from hating this show to loving it in a heartbeat.
I guess that's what it means to truly love something to no end. You see it for all of its faults, and you point them out and bash on them, but in the end, you'll never stop loving it, no matter how many flaws or cracks you can find.
I like to think that this attitude will stay forever. I like to think that Supernatural's legacy will continue to grow and thrive, even as this anniversary gets longer and longer.
I don't know if that's true. I don't know if, forty years from now, we'll all still be spending every waking moment thinking about this show and what it has meant to us (and done to us) over the years.
But I like to hope we will.
And even if we don't, that's okay to. Because I know that, no matter what we say, or do, or how our lives progress after this, Supernatural will always have a special place in our hearts. It's part of who we are, and it always will be.
So yeah. Maybe this post is a little late. And maybe I didn't finish the edit that I wanted to have done for the anniversary, or make any new collages, or write any new stories. Maybe I didn't have the time to commit my everything to this show that I have in the past.
But I didn't forget. And I never will. And I have a feeling no one else will either.
So here's to another year of remembering. Whether it's through a Season 17, or even just through yet another binge watch--I finally had the courage, for the first time, to re-watch the series finale today, and I sobbed just as much, if not more, than I did the first time--Supernatural will always have our backs, and we will always keep it in our hearts.
After all, that's what family does, right?

Fresh Starts
Leah (Stardew) x Selectively Mute She/Her Reader
A/N: Thought I’d try something different with this one. Sorry if I didn’t detail the instances of sign language very well, or if they are a little off, I did try. Also Kel is an asshol in this when they show up so get ready for that. Robin is cool mom and Abigail is the friend who is always ready to fight at the drop of a hat. Also, time is so weird in Stardew? There are four season in a year but each season is like a month so a year is like four months. Time is scary. I hope you like it! Word Count: 8,943
~
“So, someone has finally taken up that old farmland,” Leah heard Gus say to Harvey as he fixed the good doctor a drink at the bar, “‘Heard Lewis and Robin talking about it outside of Pierre’s yesterday.”
“Is that so?” Harvey was tired from a long day at the clinic, but being ever polite, he humored Gus and rested fully against the bar stool.
“Mhmm, looks like the old man’s kin is finally gonna make something of it. A few years late though I must say, that place is well overgrown. It’s gonna take a lot more than a little elbow grease to spruce up that dump,” Gus chuckled good naturedly and handed Harvey his beer, “I wish them luck, whoever they are.”
“Bah!” Leah jumped in her seat tucked away in the corner. Pam must have been listening in too. “If they’re smart they’ll just sell the heap of trash to Joja. M’sure they’d get a pretty penny for it.” Pam spoke bitterly. Shane, who was also quite drunk at this point in the night, took the opportunity to add his two cents in and yell across the bar.
“Why would they get your daughter for selling out to Joja?”
“That’s not what I meant, dumbass!” Pam roared back, slamming her beer on the table with a loud thump.
Leah decided she’d call it a night then. Without Elliott to crack jokes with, the saloon could get real depressing real fast with Shane and Pam racing each other to see who would get alcohol poisoning first. Even Clint was just sad to watch. The poor man sitting hopefully, waiting for Emily to even just turn in his direction. Leah finished the rest of her beer and paid Gus, giving the man a sympathetic smile as he left to cut Shane off.
Leah shivered in the cool spring breeze as she walked along the river bank to her cottage and her thoughts wandered back to what Gus had been gossiping about.
“A new face around Stardew Valley, hm?” Leah mused, kicking a stray pebble in her path, watching it skip across the cobbled stone. “I guess I won’t be the town newbie anymore.” She smiled and turned to look in the direction of Marnie’s home, knowing that the farm was somewhere just beyond. As Leah turned the key to unlock the door of her small cottage, she wondered what changes this new resident might bring.
***
“Have you met our new resident farmer yet?” Leah heard Caroline ask Jodi as she walked across the town square.
“I suppose you could call it that,” Jodi laughed, “It was a very brief meeting to say the least.”
“I’m glad I wasn’t the only one then,” Caroline sighed, putting a hand to her chest in relief, “I thought I had offended the girl somehow, she never said a word. She just walked into the shop and pointed to a few seeds she wanted to buy, then she handed Abigail, Pierre and I daffodils and went on her way. Not so much as a sound.” Caroline explained, still bewildered by the interaction.
“Sounds about right,” Jodi nodded, “She knocked on the front door and handed me a single clam. Which was nice I suppose, but so very odd. She gave Vincent a daffodil too,” Jodi smiled, “He was very pleased. I’m sure she would have given Sam something as well if he could wake up at a more reasonable time.”
“Oh, Leah! Good morning!” Caroline had caught her. Leah put on her most sociable smile and walked forward, greeting the two women.
“Good morning Caroline, Jodi.”
“Have you been visited by the farm fairy yet?” Jodi asked, chuckling along with Caroline.
“I’m afraid not.” Leah admitted. “Although Elliott says I am a bit difficult to track down at the best of times.” She laughed good naturedly.
“Well, I’m sure she’ll get you sooner or later. She seems to be on a mission to greet the whole town. If you can call it a greeting I suppose. I don’t even know her name.” Caroline realized.
“It’s (Y/n).”
The three women jumped and turned to a grinning Robin, walking up to them with her yoga mat swaddled under her arm.
“Her name is (Y/n). She’s quite the character, huh?”
“Robin, you helped Mayor Lewis move her in didn’t you? What can you tell us?” Jodi asked, looking for any crumb of information she could get on the mysterious girl.
“Not much to tell,” Robin shrugged, “Just a sweet kid wanting to get away from the pressures of the big city,” she sent a knowing look at Leah, “Sounds like someone else I know.”
Leah laughed politely, twisting a finger around the tail end of her braid as blush settled in her cheeks faintly.
“But why is she so... you know, quiet?” Caroline asked.
“Hm, well, she did give me her blessing to explain should it come up.” Robin took a moment to think of how to proceed, absently tapping her fingers against her mat. “(Y/n) is selectively mute. She has the ability to speak, but she’s just not comfortable enough to do so at this time. This move was a big decision for her, and she’s excited, but it’s just gonna take some time before she feels secure enough to communicate orally.”
“And how did you get all this information out of her?” Caroline wondered.
Robin secured her yoga mat between her thighs and presented both hands, pointing her index fingers outward and drew a couple large circles in the air with the tips of her extended fingers. “Sign language!” Robin grinned, before taking a hold of her mat once more.
“Oh how clever!” Jodi praised. “I wish I understood sign language.”
“I’d be happy to show you a few of the basics sometime. If you really need to ask (Y/n) something though she will have no problem writing out answers for you.” Robin informed. “Now, are we working out today or...”
“I completely forgot!” Caroline smacked her forehead with the palm of her hand, “Yes, let’s go. Poor Marnie is probably wondering where we are. Are you going to join us Leah?”
“I’ll pass, thanks. I’m heading to the beach to do some painting,” Leah explained, motioning to her bag.
“Alright, see you around!” Caroline, Jodi and Robin bid Leah goodbye and hurried to the general store.
Leah sighed, as much as she liked the people in this town they were so chatty. She could have been at the beach forever ago! Once she arrived, she saw Haley sunbathing. Not unusual, but as she kept walking closer to shore she saw Elliott splayed out over the sand laying on his stomach.
Leah rolled her eyes and walked over, playfully kicking the man’s arm, causing him to squint up at her.
“Is there some kind of new writing exercise I should know about?” She asked, playfully.
“I wish, this is simply writer’s block at its finest.” Elliott groaned. “That, and I don’t know what I’m going to do with this,” he sat up and produced a wild horseradish from his jacket pocket.
“Why do you have a horseradish in your pocket?”
“A girl I’ve never seen before in my life gave it to me. Then she took off before I could refuse. Didn’t even say a word.”
“She’s totally weird, but she did give me a daffodil so I guess she’s not that bad.” Haley called from her own spot in the sand.
“Has everyone met the new girl except me?” Leah wondered aloud.
“She’s been making rounds. I’m sure she’ll find you eventually.” Elliott said, resting his chin over his arms.
“You make her sound so ominous.” Leah laughed, lowering herself to the sand and taking out a sketch pad.
“A silent specter. A harbinger of-“
“Oh can it, drama queen,” Leah smirked, “so she gave you a horseradish, it’s not the end of the world. She was just trying to be nice.”
Elliott pursed his lips, propping his head up with one hand he turned the horseradish in the other offering it to Leah. “Do you want it? You’re all about foraging.”
“I mean, if you’re not going to use it sure. Put it in my bag.” Leah relented easily. Her eyes only leaving her paper to study the horizon for a moment, then continue to sketch.
Leah stayed on the beach with Elliott for a couple of hours, talking  sketching, and painting. Finally she stood and stretched, patting the sand off the back of her jeans. “I should get going. See you around.”
“See you.” Elliott nodded, splitting off from Leah to head over to his shack.
Leah hummed to herself as she walked through town, making her way past Jodi’s house and entered the Cindersnap Forest. As she rounded the corner of her cottage, she paused in her tracks. Observing a young woman staring at her door with dandelions in one hand and her other poised to knock on the weathered wood.
Leah flinched slightly, she had stepped on a twig, snapping it and alerting her visitor of her presence.
Startled eyes met Leah’s own and the farmer straightened from her previous position, stepping back from Leah’s door.
She smiled shyly, giving Leah a short, jaunty wave before gesturing between Leah and the cottage a moment. Then she stood still. An expectant look on her face.
Leah simply stared back, blinking before she registered the silent question. “Oh! Yes, I live here. That’s my house. You’re (Y/n), right? Robin told me about you, I’m Leah.” She smiled kindly, coming forward to offer (Y/n) her hand to shake.
Instead of grasping Leah’s hand, (Y/n) cupped it with her gloved hands, turning Leah’s hand palm up and placing the dandelions inside.
“Ah, thank you.” Leah chuckled, “These will make a great salad.”
(Y/n) nodded vigorously, then moved to make her exit. Leah wasn’t sure what possessed her, but she called out to (Y/n) before she could get too far.
“Wait, I um, it’s not much but I did take an intro to ASL course my freshman year of college so, I’m a bit limited but if you ever want to talk, you know...” Leah wished she could stop talking right now. Why had no one told her that the farmer was cute!? “So, yeah, you know,” Leah fumbled with her free hand, her fingers sat just underneath her chin before she sent them forward, “Thanks again.” She smiled nervously.
(Y/n) stared at her, dumbfounded. Then she released a short, sharp exhalation of air that was reminiscent of stuttered laughter and turned back to stand before Leah. (Y/n) made a timid approach and gingerly took Leah’s wrist, still hovering midair, and guided the hand back to rest on Leah’s chin, just below her lip. Leah stood still as stone as (Y/n) held it there for a second then extended the hand forward. She repeated the motion twice more before backing away and releasing Leah from her gloved grasp. The smell of earth and grass still clung to Leah’s nose even after (Y/n) had stepped back.
“Oh, I did it wrong, didn’t I?” Leah blushed, “Is there a big difference between the two?”
(Y/n) blew out a large breath of air and nodded. One of her gloved hands came up to cover the amused smile fighting against her lips.
“What did I say? Was is embarrassing? Yoba, I need to know,” Leah carefully set the dandelions at her feet and rummaged through her bag. Taking out her sketch pad and a pencil, she flipped to a clean page and presented the materials into the rough fabric of (Y/n)’s gloved hands, “Please, tell me.”
(Y/n) shot Leah a sympathetic smile, then she looked down at the paper and wrote quickly and concisely. She looked over her work, nodded to herself, then she handed the sketch book and pencil back to Leah before jogging of in the direction of her farm.
“Eh- Hey! Wait a minute!” Leah took a few strides after the farmer but quickly gave up, electing to look at the paper in her hand instead. “Maybe I’ll tell you some other time. Nice meeting you Leah, smiley face.” Leah read aloud to herself. She scoffed, but couldn’t stop the smile that had conquered her lips. She couldn’t wait to see (Y/n) again.
***
“Hey, Maru-“
“I think I have a feeling about what this is about, but just in case, please proceed.”
The next morning, Leah had made her way to the clinic to visit Maru and perhaps get the answers she was looking for. She had made the trek to (Y/n)’s farm first, but she wasn’t there. A little note hastily taped to the farmer’s door revealed that she was spending the day fishing in the mountains and wouldn’t be back until late at night.
“Maru, you know sign language like your mom, right?” Leah asked.
“Sure do. Seb and dad do too.” Maru nodded, leaning over the clinic counter. “But I’ve got to tell you that if you’re looking for the meaning of what you accidentally signed to (Y/n) last night, we were sworn to silence earlier this morning before (Y/n) went fishing. Sorry.” Maru smiled.
“Ugh,” Leah sighed, leaning her forehead against the counter. “Can I at least have a hint?”
“Well, it’s really funny. Especially considering how chill you normally are and your kind disposition.”
“Yoba, I really need to know!” Leah groaned against the counter.
“Well my family can’t tell you. You’ll just have to wait to hear it from (Y/n),” Maru grinned and pushed away from the counter, “I have to prepare for Evelyn’s check up now so I’ll see you around Leah.”
“Yeah, bye.” Leah grumbled, watching Maru disappear into the back offices. “Well, there goes that plan.” She mumbled under her breath as she left the clinic.
Leah spent the rest of the day sculpting in her cottage. She spent hours getting lost in the chipping of the wood before finally going to bed.
***
It had been days since Leah last saw (Y/n) and if the farming life wasn’t so demanding, Leah would have been worried that she had deeply offended the farmer to the point that she was purposely avoiding her. Leah decided not to waste the time she had been presented with.
She approached Robin about sign language lessons, enough to get some basic phrases and words. She practiced the motions herself, perfecting them to allow for no mistakes. Although she knew (Y/n) could hear her just fine, she found it easier to retain the lessons this way. Not to mention that it was just a useful language to know.
“I’ve hardly seen you around. I was worried you stabbed yourself with your woodworking tools.” Elliott said as Leah came up to sit next to him in the saloon.
“And you didn’t think to come to check on me?” Leah looked at the writer incredulously.
“Nope.”
Leah punched Elliott’s arm and he laughed. Before long, Emily came by with their food and they ate comfortably.
“Would you look at that.” Elliot spoke, pointing in direction of the door as he swallowed another bite.
Leah turned to look, purple irises sparkling at the sight of (Y/n) lugging a large bag up to the bar. She watched Emily talk (Y/n)’s ear off, the poor farmer smiled uncomfortably while trying to divide her attention between her and Gus who had apparently requested a variety of fish.
“Wow, Robin said you were in trouble but you really are,” Elliott chuckled behind his beer, “You really lit up just now.”
“I don’t know what you’re talking about.” Leah scoffed, still watching (Y/n) hand Gus fish after fish. It was almost comical how such an objectively small bag could hold so much.
“You can’t keep your eyes off her. I realize the dating pool in Stardew is small, but the girl just got here.”
“Elliott, stop!” Leah blushed, looking back down at her plate to stab at her salad.
“I’m just saying, you’re already taking sign language lessons for her you might want to dial it back a little bit. You wouldn’t want to come off as the obsessive type.”
“Oh! She’s leaving, should I offer to walk her home? I’m going to offer to walk her home.” Leah dug in her pocket and pulled out some gold, pushing it over to Elliott.
“What did I just say?” Elliott called after Leah, as she eagerly jogged to the exit to catch (Y/n) walking in the direction of the Cindersaps, perfect!
“(Y/n), good evening!” Leah called jogging up to the farmer only to have the farmer gasp and take several steps away from Leah, holding her hands out as a warning to not come any closer. “I’m sorry, I’m didn’t mean to make you uncomfortable!” Leah gasped, maybe Elliott was right.
(Y/n) shook her head, slowly taking a step back towards Leah, presenting her slightly soggy bag and waving her hand in front of her nose, scrunching her face as she did so.
Leah was sure the movement wasn’t an official ASL sign, but it did help get the point across and she giggled.
“What? Do you think you smell?”
Another nod and a look that seemed to say that she didn’t just think so, she knew so. She had been in the mines all morning and fishing at the beach all afternoon. She couldn’t wait to take a shower.
“It’s alright, I won’t judge you,” Leah smiled, “Are you heading home for the night? I’d be happy to walk with you since it’s so dark.”
(Y/n) took a moment to think about it before nodding shyly and motioning Leah closer. Leah happily obliged walking alongside the farmer into the Cindersap Forest. The walk was mostly silent, but that was to be expected nonetheless, Leah was having a great time. They had even found a couple of leeks along the way which (Y/n) had insisted Leah keep. All too soon, they reached the porch of the old farmhouse.
“You’re crops look great,” Leah complimented, looking for an excuse to stay even just a few minutes more, “really healthy. What all have you been growing? Are those potatoes and turnips?”
(Y/n) looked over her shoulder as she unlocked her door. Her eyes focused on where Leah was pointing and nodded affirmingly.
“Yeah, I’m no farmer but I love foraging. I’ve got a few really good books about wild foods and where to find them and when. It’s kind of like a scavenger hunt.” Leah grinned.
“Mhmm.”
It was quiet, a little strained, but the small hum of agreement almost sent Leah into cardiac arrest. She sounded so sweet! Leah’s cheeks were starting to hurt from how widely she was smiling.
“Well, I’ll leave you to it then. So, I’ll see you around?”
(Y/n) looked like she wanted to say something, but settled for a simple nod, fiddling with the gardening gloves she had taken off. Leah smiled softly, watching how the farmer intently eyed the fabric twisting in her hands.
“Feel free to drop by the cottage whenever it suits you. I’ll leave the door open!” Leah added, waving over her shoulder as she turned to walk away. (Y/n) beamed, looking a bit more lively as she waved back.
Leah turned her back on the house and walked back to her cottage in the Cindersaps with a skip in her step and a painfully large smile on her face. Although it was already late, she prepared a new block of wood for sculpting. Her new muse had granted her a vision for a grand project and had the potential to be one of her greatest works yet.
***
“Kel, I told you to stop calling me. I’m not coming back to the city, we are through.” Leah frowned, her hand gripped the phone receiver so tightly that she could hear the plastic giving slightly under the pressure.
She was so focused on combating Kel’s useless bargains that she hadn’t noticed the timid farmer show herself in, looking at Leah’s tense shoulders and back with concern. (Y/n) flinched as Leah cut off Kel to speak again, her voice low and stern.
“There is nothing you could say, nothing you could offer me, that would make me come back. Move on, and please, for the last time, do not call me again.” Leah slammed the phone down on its perch. Pressing her palms into her eyes she let out a frustrated groan, slowly positioning her hands to rub at her temples to combat the headache she felt coming on.
Then she heard the door creak.
Leah quickly turned around just in time to see (Y/n) looking back at her with wide eyes and lips pursed thin as if she had been caught witnessing an event she had no business seeing. Which was partially true, but Leah had told her a week beforehand that she could drop by anytime.
“(Y/n), what a pleasant surprise!” Leah grimaced, watching (Y/n) flinch and look down sheepishly at her feet. One had managed to retreat back out the door before being caught and it was slowly joined by the intruding foot, so (Y/n) was fully outside again. Leah shook her head and calmly approached the farmer.
“Please don’t leave, I’m the one who told you to come let yourself in whenever. I’m sorry you had to hear all of that.” Leah was worried, watching (Y/n) linger in the doorway. Her shoulders relaxed when (Y/n) cautiously came back inside and closed the door behind her.
(Y/n) stood in the entryway and looked over Leah, her eyes filled heavily with concern. She raised a hand, pointing to Leah before signing the letters ‘o’ and ‘k’.
“I’m okay. I’m just,” Leah fumbled for the right words, “mad, sad? Exhausted.”
(Y/n) made another gesture, shaping her fingers into a ‘hang loose’-esque sign. Her curled fingers meeting her chin. She lowered the hand momentarily to give it a controlled shake before bringing it back up into the starting position.
“What’s wrong?” Leah mumbled, making sure she understood. (Y/n) nodded. “I just got a phone call from someone I didn’t want to talk to is all,” Leah sighed, “They’re an ex of mine. The person who called.” Leah disclosed, rubbing the back of her neck, agitated.
(Y/n) signed again, but Leah didn’t quite catch it that time so she motioned (Y/n) over to her dining nook and sat her down with some paper and a pencil. The farmer seemed a bit unwilling to write it out, feeling like it was more insensitive somehow but with a little prodding from Leah, she gave in.
“Was it a bad break up...” Leah read aloud. She sat back in her chair and carefully chose her words. “Sometimes it feels like we’re still breaking up,” Leah chuckled wryly, “Kel, my ex, didn’t like me perusing art. They didn’t think I could make a living out of it and wanted me to waste away at some office job and well, I didn’t want that. They weren’t respectful or supportive of my dreams, so I left. They call me a lot though, to try to convince me to come back to the city... that I won’t make it as an artist. That I can’t be happy without them. It really is exhausting and the worst part is, I worry that they’re right.” Leah released a shuddering breath, “I haven’t sold a single piece. I don’t really even know how to start. I can sustain myself on what I have in my savings account for only so long.”
(Y/n) covered Leah’s hand with her own, squeezing it. Leah marveled at how soft it was in comparison to her own, especially since it was the hand of a farmer. Perhaps the gloves (Y/n) always wore had more practical uses rather than simply being worn for aesthetic’s sake. Leah chanced a look at (Y/n)’s face and was caught off guard by the determined fire blazing in her eyes. Then Leah’s attention was brought back to the table as (Y/n) furiously scratched the pencil against the paper and forcefully pushed her newly composed message in front of the sculptor, her other hand still rooted over Leah’s.
Leah read over the note and felt her heart ache with appreciative warmth. ‘You were brave enough to know what you wanted and even though it wasn’t easy, you went for it. That in itself is an amazing accomplishment that you should not take lightly. Your dream is not unfounded either, I’ve seen some of your sketches and paintings and I think you are very talented. Once you figure out how to put yourself out there you’ll have people begging you to take their money.’
Leah sniffed and smiled at (Y/n) appreciatively, turning her hand to reciprocate (Y/n)’s strong, yet gentle hold on her. “Thank you, (Y/n). I just wish I knew how to start.”
(Y/n) tapped her chin with the pencil as she thought. When she had an idea, she pulled the paper back to herself and wrote a suggestion.
“An art show? Oh, I don’t know (Y/n). It hardly seems possible.”
(Y/n) shook her head in disagreement and wrote more.
“You really think the town would want to help? Are you sure you want to help? You’ve got enough on your plate already with how busy the farm keeps you. I don’t want to impose.”
(Y/n) looked as if she had something to say, her throat bobbed and her lips twitched, but in the end she settled for the paper again, still too anxious to speak. After Leah had read the reply, she felt (Y/n)’s thumb rub against her knuckles and looked up. (Y/n) nodded, her expression serious. She wanted to help Leah with this.
“Thank you, (Y/n)!” Leah sniffled, holding back tears. She launched herself into (Y/n)’s arms and hugged the surprised farmer close. “Thank you so much!”
(Y/n) slowly returned the hug, smoothing one of her hands over Leah’s back in comforting motions. It was a bit of an awkward position with (Y/n) still sitting at the table and Leah hovering over her, but it felt nice.
“Sorry,” Leah chuckled after a moment, leaning back and wiping a stray tear from her eye, “I kind of caught you off guard with that didn’t I?”
(Y/n) shrugged and smiled good naturedly. A look came over her face as if she just remembered something and she stood up to grab her bag from the cottage entryway. She grinned when she found what she was looking for and made her way back to Leah, holding out a brown paper package to her.
“For me?” Leah asked. (Y/n) nodded and gestured for her to take it. Leah carefully unwrapped it and gasped. “(Y/n), is this goat cheese? I love this, how did you know?”
(Y/n) raised her hand, signing the letters ‘E’ ‘L’ ‘L’ ‘I’ ‘O’ ‘T’ ‘T’.
“Elliott hm?” Leah laughed, “I’m glad you two are getting along after the horseradish debacle.”
(Y/n) crossed her arms and stuck her nose up. She wasn’t looking back on the memory fondly.
“Hey, I’m with you on this one. He was being an ass. How could you have known he hated horseradish.”
(Y/n) nodded in agreement, one of her hands reaching out as if to say, ‘exactly’. She then noticed the time on Leah’s clock and signed that she had to go.
“I see.” Leah smiled sadly, trying not to let her disappointment shine through. “Good bye then, and (Y/n),” Leah signed ‘thank you’, very mindful of the position of her hands this time around, “seriously thank you for everything.”
(Y/n) beamed, giving Leah a thumbs up before heading out the door.
***
“I can’t believe I’m doing this.” Leah kept mumbling to herself while watching her fellow Pelican Townies set up her creations in the town square. There were already some tourists looking around and Leah felt her nerves fraying.
“Hang in there, kid. Everything looks great. Don’t worry so much.” Robin snuck up on Leah, making her jump. “It’s a beautiful summer day, don’t forget to enjoy it.”
“I’m trying, Robin. It’s just so much.” Leah said, nervously playing with her sleeve. Robin noticed Elliott walking up and motioned him to help deal with the artist while she went to help Demetrius move a heavy wooden sculpture.
“Come on now, Leah. Too late to back out now.” Elliott grinned, thumping her back. “(Y/n) seems especially excited by how things are progressing.”
Leah chanced a glance at (Y/n) and Maru putting up paintings between signing each other excitedly. The scene warmed her heart and her shoulders relaxed a bit.
“Yeah, okay. I’ll try.”
“Great, now let’s go woo some tourists.” Elliott said, wiggling his eyebrows.
“What? Elliott, no!” Leah shook her head.
“Not like that,” Elliott laughed, “I know your heart belongs to someone else. I just meant,” he looks around before whispering in Leah’s ear, “woo them out of their money.”
Leah laughed and pushed Elliott away. “Alright, you focus on the wooing and I’ll focus on explaining my thought processes.”
“That doesn’t sound as fun, but okay, this is your day.”
As Elliot and Leah made their way across the square, an unwelcome guest watched them from afar. Their blood boiled as they saw Leah pause at the makeshift painting gallery to give the farmer’s hand an affectionate squeeze.
***
“I can’t believe we sold so many!” Leah spoke in ecstatic disbelief as she waved at the last car she and (Y/n) had just loaded a heavy wooden sculpture into before it drove away. “This is crazy!”
(Y/n) wore a smile that matched Leah’s, happy to watch the sculptor bouncing in place. When Leah finally stilled, still giddy, she took both of (Y/n)’s hands in hers. Once again free of the gloves, the hands were pleasantly soft against her own and she relished in the feeling.
“(Y/n) I know it’s kind of late, but I have something I want to give to you. I left it at my house so I’m going to go get it. I’ll meet you at the farm, is that alright?”
(Y/n) stared at Leah, her curiosity piqued. She nodded, easily giving Leah the answer she was hoping for.
“Great! I’ll be there soon!” With one last squeeze of the farmer’s hands, she was off. (Y/n) heard the crack of a twig, but when she turned to investigate, nothing stood out so she made her way back to her farm to wait for Leah.
When Leah came up to the porch, (Y/n) had to do a double take at the big wooden statue she was lugging along. With one last huff of air, Leah placed the statue at the base of the steps and grinned up at (Y/n), wiping a bit of sweat from her brow.
“Thanks for waiting. It was a little more ah, heavy, than I expected.” Leah laughed sheepishly. “Come take a look.”
(Y/n) stepped off the porch and circled the piece, taking in every detail. Leah felt nervous butterflies fluttering in her stomach while she watched the farmer scrutinize the work and cleared her throat.
“I started working on it in the spring. I also incorporated some of that driftwood you gave me a few weeks ago. Anyway, I made it with you in mind. It’s called, ‘How I Feel about (Y/n)’ and I’d be honored if you would accept it as a gift for everything you’ve done for me.” Leah stared at her feet as she spoke, too embarrassed to keep her eyes on (Y/n) while she spoke. Then a pair of boots joined, hands came up to clasp her own, pulling the conjoined grasp into her line of vision and coaxing her to look up into (Y/n)’s eyes.
“It’s wonderful.”
At that moment, Leah thought her heart must have been beating so hard that it was affecting her hearing.
“Hh... huh?” Leah asked, rather dumbly.
(Y/n) swallowed thickly, took a deep breath, and whispered, “It’s wonderful, Leah. Thank you.”
Leah looked absolutely awestruck, purple irises shone with excitement and she laughed, pulling (Y/n) into a tight embrace.
“I’m glad you like it.” Leah sniffled, resting her face in (Y/n)’s shoulder.
“Leah?” (Y/n) wrapped her arms around the artist, it was only one word, her name, but Leah heard the concern in the farmer’s tone.
“I’m okay. I’m just happy,” Leah sniffled again, “I’m happy you felt comfortable enough with me to speak to me.”
“Me too.” (Y/n) whispered, holding Leah tighter.
The pair found it difficult when they had to part ways for the night, but they were equally excited over how their relationship was developing, looking forward to spending more time together over the summer.
***
“Come on, just a little further...” Leah coached herself. She was reaching for a piece of fruit hanging from a branch just out of her reach.
She had planned a picnic with (Y/n) for this afternoon. She had already set up under the big old tree near the pond and as she waited for (Y/n) to finish up with her crops and animals for the morning, when she spotted the unusual fruit. Now she was jumping and stretching for the fruit just out of reach.
“Almost— Ah!” Leah struggled to balance herself in the air, swiveling her head to peak over her shoulder, she saw (Y/n) looking up at her with a mischievous grin. Leah rolled her eyes, a smile tugging at the side of her lips. She turned back to the task at hand and grabbed the fruit, motioning (Y/n) to put her back down.
“Show off.” Leah scoffed, lightly punching (Y/n)’s shoulder. “You wanna try a bite?”
“Yes, please.” (Y/n)’s cheeks heated when Leah pressed the fruit to her lips. She took a bite of the offering, savoring the taste. “It’s so sweet.” She said, amazed.
“Right?” Leah smiled, “It’s rare to get fruit from this tree. Usually all the animals snap it all up as soon as they’re ripe, but it seems they miss some from time to time. How is everything with the farm this morning?”
“All is well,” (Y/n) nodded as the pair made themselves comfortable on the blanket Leah had set up, “I would have been here sooner but the goats kept standing in front of my cheese and mayo machines, the chicken coup too. Made it a little difficult.” (Y/n) disclosed. “Which reminds me,” she rummaged through her bag, “goat cheese salads.”
“Mmm, this looks heavenly. Thank you for making these.” Leah said, eagerly stirring in some vinaigrette into the generous fresh salad.
“No problem. Selling my harvest is nice, but it feels so much more rewarding enjoying it like this.” (Y/n) informed, mixing her own salad.
“I can imagine,” Leah hummed and leaned her back fully against the trunk of the tree, “Ah, it’s such a lovely day for this.”
“Mhmm.”
They ate the rest of their meal in peaceful silence, listening to the birds sing and the fish leap, the breeze rustling the trees and grass around them. It was tranquil, it was perfect.
“Hey, Leah,” (Y/n) spoke, breaking the silence.
“Yes?” Leah asked, turning her gaze away from the sketch pad she had brought out.
“It’s almost Fall you know, we’ve known each other for nearly two whole seasons. Half a year, it’s crazy, right?”
“Yeah, it doesn’t seem like it’s been that long, doesn’t it?” Leah giggled, “What made you think of that?”
“Well, I wanted to ask you something. Don’t feel like you have to answer one way or the other, but...” (Y/n) paused, trying to gather her thoughts.
“Hey, it’s okay (Y/n). You can tell me anything. Sign it out if you want to.”
“No, it’s okay. I’m just nervous,” (Y/n) turned to her bag and pulled out a lovely bouquet of flowers, “Leah, would you maybe consider being my girlfriend?“
“Yes!” Leah enveloped (Y/n) in a tackle like hug that sent them both to fully meet the ground, accidentally crushing the flowers between their bodies, “Oops, sorry,” Leah wiggled the flowers out from under her to look at them more closely, “these are lovely, (Y/n). I didn’t know Pierre had these in yet.”
“He didn’t, I planted them.” (Y/n) clarified, smiling up at Leah who still hovered over her, giggling.
“Of course you did, you’re so sweet.”
“I try.”
“Are you kidding me!”
Leah and (Y/n) quickly turned to face the disturbance, scrambling to sit up from their compromising position. Leah felt her stomach twist with discomfort seeing Kel of all people marching up to them, absolutely fuming.
“Seriously, what the hell, Leah?” Kel yelled, their hands clenched into tight fists as they closed in, making yard after yard disappear between them.
“No, more like what the hell, Kel? I broke up with you seasons ago. What are you even doing in Pelican Town?” Leah retorted angrily, as (Y/n) helped her to her feet. Kel watched the motion and ground their teeth.
They were already dangerously close to crossing the threshold of the blanket and that small display was enough to send them stomping over the edge.
“I came for you, obviously! I’ve been slumming it in that dusty old saloon since your art show, waiting to talk to you! Now I find you sucking face with some country bumpkin nobody!” They seethed, stepping even closer into Leah’s personal space until (Y/n) pulled Leah back behind her, making Kel even more incensed. “You stay out of this. I’m talking to Leah!”
(Y/n) held strong, stuck between the harsh obscenities attacking her from the front and the loving affirmations defending her from behind. She held her arm out, willing Kel to stay back as she slowly started to guide Leah back in the direction of town for help. Kel ignored the warning and followed after them.
“Don’t you have anything to say for yourself? You think you’re being some kind of hero right now?” Kel seethed.
(Y/n) stayed silent, she had gone mute again and who would blame her in the face of such a tense situation? She was so very uncomfortable, scared even, but she continued on passed Marnie’s since she knew the woman wasn’t home at this time and she sure wasn’t going to expose Jas to this. Jodi’s house was their next best bet.
“Hey, you obviously want to start something here. You’ve got something to say to me?” Kel continued forward.
“Kel, leave us alone!” Leah commanded, “It’s over, it’s been over, go home!”
“You think you’re too good to talk to me?” Kel yelled, ignoring Leah. “She’s just a whore. She just latched onto the first warm body she could find after her little meltdown. You’re not special.”
(Y/n) froze stiffly in place, Leah felt the muscles on her shoulders tense so she tried to pull on her arm to keep her moving.
“Ignore them, (Y/n). Let’s focus on getting to town, okay?” Leah pleaded. But (Y/n) gently pushed off Leah’s hands and took a step towards Kel with a cold glare. Leah stepped to stand beside (Y/n)’s side, nervous that a more serious confrontation was about to unfold.
“Well?” Kel spat.
(Y/n) crossed her arms, turning her head to look at Leah. The look on her face was all the communication Leah needed to understand. It was definitely a, ‘they better back off or I’m going to knock them off their block’ face. Leah had never known (Y/n) to be particularly violent, but with all the time she spent in the mines, she had no doubt that she could take care of herself.
Leah gasped when Kel suddenly roared, lunging forward. Apparently they had not liked how (Y/n) and Leah had been paying attention to each other rather than themself. Kel had rocketed forward and aimed to punch (Y/n) hard over her cheek, however, at the last moment, Leah pushed her aside and took the blow for her.
(Y/n) inhaled sharply and caught Leah as she stumbled back, noticing how blood immediately began gushing from Leah’s now broken nose.
“Ow- AH!” Leah cried, her hands muffled her voice since she had covered her nose and mouth.
It only took a second for (Y/n) to return the favor to Kel’s stunned face. She punched them fast and hard over their cheek, but Kel was quick to fight back and now it was a full out brawl.
“What’s going on, we heard yelling— holy shit!”
Leah turned away from the fight to see Sam, Seb, and Abigail running up on the scene.
“(Y/n)’s throwing hands!” Abigail yelled, sounding way more excited than worried.
“Leah are you okay? What’s going on?” Sebastian asked, noting the concerning amount of blood running down Leah’s arms and the front of her shirt.
“Don’t worry about me, stop them!” Leah winced, taking one hand away from her face to motion to her ex and her new girlfriend still going at each other.
“Damn, Abi! Go get your dad and Harvey too by the looks of it!” Sam yelled, he seemed to be looking for an opening to push the fighters apart.
“Are you kidding? You get my dad, I’m getting in on this!” Abigail cheered and ran up to jump on Kel’s back like she was at a rodeo while (Y/n) landed a good hit on Kel’s stomach. “Nice punch, (Y/n)!”
“Oh Yoba, Sam, start running.” Seb suggested, trying to help Leah with her nose. He was no Maru, but even he knew how to set a broken nose. Especially within the first couple weeks of Sam taking up skateboarding.
“Right!” Sam ran off back into town screaming. A few tense minutes later and Pierre, Caroline, Robin, Elliott, Maru and Harvey came running behind Sam to break up the fight.
“Abigail, stop!” Pierre huffed, pulling off his daughter and passing her off to his wife, “I taught you what I did to defend yourself, not to lash out like a wild animal!” He grunted, pulling Kel into his grasp and trapping their arms behind their back with Elliott coming up to assist.
“Come on dad, I was helping a friend! What’s the big deal?” Abi groaned, while her mom fretted over her, looking for injuries.
“Easy there kid, it’s over.” Robin coaxed (Y/n), pulling her back. The farmer slumped over in the carpenter’s hold, breathing heavily.
“Is (Y/n) okay? Ah!” Leah hissed as Harvey touched up her nose, giving her a nasal spray before wedging a couple wads of tissue up her nostrils.
“Sorry, Leah.” Harvey sympathized, “Maru is going to check up on her now.”
“What about me?” Kel hissed. Pierre had them resting on their knees. They looked really roughed up. A black eye was already forming and scratches and bruises littered their skin, they were also holding their stomach rather tightly.
“You’ll just have to wait a minute.” Elliott frowned, staring down at the stranger with contempt.
“Don’t you have any police officers in this backwater town? I’ll sue every one of you for withholding care to someone who is obviously hurt!” Kel threatened, grinding their teeth.
“Oh, the police are coming alright!”  Caroline spoke indignantly. “You are in no position to be asking for anything right now, bringing violence to our community, you should be ashamed!”
“(Y/n) can you look up for me, please.” Maru asked, carefully tilting (Y/n)’s chin up. (Y/n) sucked in a breath when Maru touched her bruised jaw a tad to hard. “Sorry, Your jaw is bruised pretty badly. Your bottom lip split too. How is your vision?”
(Y/n) shook her head and winced, cradling her head in her hands.
“Okay, possible concussion. We’ll need to observe her at the clinic.” Maru said.
“Alright, come on bruiser,” Robin grunted, heaving (Y/n) to her feet, “Sebbie, help me walk her into town please.”
“Sure mom.” Seb took (Y/n)’s other side.
(Y/n) patted Robin’s arm, motioning her to wait. She slowly turned to Kel and leaned more heavily against Seb as she freed her other arm from Robin to snap her fingers aggressively, looking for Kel’s attention. Once Kel looked up at her, sneering from their spot in the dirt, (Y/n) turned briefly to make sure Leah was watching. When she saw that she was, she smiled as if to say, ‘watch this,’ and turned back to Kel. (Y/n) brought her flat, angled hand below her chin and sent it forward in the direction of Kel’s confused, but no less, pissed face.
“Oh ho! (Y/n) is such a badass!” Abigail laughed.
“Abi, since when do you know sign language?” Sam asked, clearly confused.
“I don’t, but I’ve spent enough time searching curses in different languages to know that was totally a ‘fuck you’. Personally I think a middle finger approach would have been an appropriate classic myself but whatever.” Abigail shrugged.
“Abigail, language!” Caroline scolded.
“Sorry mom.”
“Alright, you’ve had your fun. Clinic, now.” Robin tried to hold in a laugh as she repositioned (Y/n)’s arm over her shoulder. Then she and Seb began walking (Y/n) back into town.
Leah made to follow, but as they were leaving, the police from the the next town over had arrived and they needed her statements as a witness. Never mind that she was covered in her own blood and her girlfriend was being dragged away to the clinic with a concussion. Once the officers were satisfied, they took Kel away with promises to be back for (Y/n)’s statement and to see if any charges would be made. For now they were just going to take Kel back to a hospital in Zuzu City since they may have broken a rib or two in the fight. After that, they were going to be free to go.
Leah wasn’t too worried. She didn’t think Kel would come back after the beating (Y/n) and Abigail gave them. She watched the police car drive out of Cindersaps, taking her disgruntled ex away.
“Leah, I’m sure you want to get to the clinic but you should really clean up first.” Caroline had said patting the younger woman’s back. “(Y/n) will be fine.”
“Yeah, Harvey and Maru got her. Take some time to process.” Elliott smiled.
Leah could only nod tiredly. She trudged over to her cottage to shower and change. She still couldn’t believe how quickly things got out of hand. She looked at her bandaged nose in the mirror, hissing when she gingerly touched the bridge of it. She was wary of Seb setting it himself, but Harvey said he had gone a great job. Once she was physically put back together, Leah quickly made her way to the clinic.
“Where is she?” She asked immediately upon arriving. She sounded a little congested thanks to her clogged nose, but she was easily understood. Robin was still in the waiting room and filled her in.
“Harvey and Maru are talking her through concussion care. She’s okay, but I don’t think she’ll be allowed to work for awhile.”
“Oh no,” Leah sat down, resting her elbows on her knees and covered her eyes with her hands, “This is all my fault.”
“Aw, don’t say that sweetheart. You know that’s not true.” Robin frowned, taking a seat beside her, “(Y/n) would hate to hear you think like that.”
“(Y/n) loves her farm! If she can’t maintain the upkeep...” Leah continued, teary eyed, only to be silenced by Robin.
“I’m going to stop you right there. Nothing is going to happen to the farm. Abi, Sam, and even Seb already told (Y/n) in no uncertain terms that they were going to pitch in while she recovers. Everything is going to be taken care of.” Robin assured.
“Still none of this would have happened if-“
“If you hadn’t broken up with your ex? Moved to Pelican Town? Got a crush? Leah, you can’t punish yourself for moving on with your life. You’re allowed to be happy.” Robin chided gently. “It was hard for me and Sebastian’s father to see eye to eye at the best of times. Now I have Demetrius and although he can be a bit annoying sometimes with his tomato bullshit, not a day goes by that I’m not grateful I took that first step because I love him.” Robin smiled.
Leah’s nose hurt like hell as she tried to carefully wipe the tears from her eyes and Robin rubbed her back affectionately. Once Leah had calmed down, Robin stood and stretched.
“She’s been wondering where you are. The doc is keeping her for overnight observation, but your welcome to stay with her. I on the other hand, am apparently too old for this much excitement and need to go home.”
“Thank you Robin, for talking to me.”
“Anytime,” Robin grinned, “now go get her.”
Leah made her way into the back area of the clinic and nearly ran up to Harvey, Maru, and (Y/n). (Y/n) was signing to Maru while she relayed the information to Harvey as he examined (Y/n)’s well being.
(Y/n) was relieved to see Leah and eagerly motioned her to come sit on the edge of the bed she was sitting in which Leah did happily.
“Leah, how’s the nose?” Harvey asked while he finished up (Y/n)’s chart.
“It’s fine. Just, really sore and tingly.”
“So not fine.” Maru chuckled. “I’ll get you some pain meds.”
“Ah, thanks Maru.” Leah smiled sheepishly.
“Well, Ms. (Y/n),” Harvey sighed, turning his attention back to the farmer, “you and I are in for a long night. I’ll be waking you up every hour to check your pupils to see if your condition changes at all.” Harvey stood and stretched, “Ms. Leah, feel welcome to stay as long as you like. It can’t hurt to keep an extra pair of eyes on her.”
“I could stay overtime, Harvey.” Maru said as she came back with two pills and a glass of water for Leah.
“I seem to recall you talking about a time sensitive experiment this morning.” Harvey recalled, making Maru smack the side of her head. “You’re right! I got to go now! Good night everyone!” Maru called behind her as she rushed out to the waiting room then out of the building.
“I’m going to take the first of my many naps lined up for tonight. I’ll see you ladies in about an hour. Try to get some rest.” Harvey said before leaving to walk up the stairs to his apartment.
Finally Leah and (Y/n) were alone again. (Y/n) sunk down into the covers and sighed deeply. She turned to face Leah, concerning the sculptor by how small she looked.
“You’re not too upset with me, are you?” (Y/n) asked, surprising Leah.
“I’m not upset with you. Why would I be upset with you?”
“I just beat the crap out a person. Sure they are your ex, but you cared about them at some point so it must have been hard to watch. I can’t imagine what you must think of me now.” (Y/n) whispered, she was so quiet Leah had to lean closer and even then she was straining to hear.
“(Y/n), I like you. Nothing that happened today changed how much I like you. It certainly didn’t make me like you any less,” Leah rested her hand over (Y/n)’s cheek, “Kel made their choice when they decided to come to Pelican Town and confront us. I wish it hadn’t gone down the way it did, but that’s not our fault. I’m just glad you’re okay.”
“I’m glad you’re okay too. I was worried.”
“I wish we could start this day all over,” Leah moaned, “First day as official girlfriends and we get into a fist fight.”
(Y/n) laughed lightly, closing her eyes to combat the pain that came from her jostling. “Abigail thought it was a pretty great date activity.”
“She would think that.” Leah rolled her eyes, “she also eats rocks.”
“Well, think about it this way. Until I’m allowed to take up all my farming duties again, you can do whatever you want with me.”
“Whatever I want, hmm?” Leah tapped her lips with her index finger, “would it be to forward if me to ask for a kiss?”
“You may, just be careful with my split lip. I won’t be able to explain what happened to Harvey if you make it worse.” (Y/n) said.
“One gentle kiss, coming right up.” Leah wiggled on the bed’s stiff hospital sheets until she laid face to face with (Y/n). Their lips met in a soft brushing that was almost ghost like, but rather than leaving them with a chill, warmth bloomed between them.
“Wow.” (Y/n) grinned.
“If you thought that was good, wait until I can get more involved with it.”
“So confident. I like it.” (Y/n) squinted, “could you turn the light off? It’s really starting to hurt my eyes.”
“Of course.” Leah got up and switched off the half the lights to keep their side of the room in darkness but allow Harvey to still be able to see when he came back.
“Now come cuddle, please.” (Y/n) asked sleepily reaching her arms out.
“Nothing would make me happier.”
Leah kicked off her boots and shimmied under the sheets to join (Y/n) and wrapped her arms around her. Leah let the exhaustion of the day roll over her and she had nearly let sleep claim her before her eyes shot open and she propped herself up on her elbow to lean over (Y/n).
“Did I really sign a ‘fuck you’ when we first met?!” She asked, appalled.
(Y/n)’s response was to laugh sleepily into Leah’s chest.

Omg thank you so much for your posts about rinharu!! :"")) I was one of those people who were like "why are rinharu fighting again?? Did kyoani purposely seperate them /again/ just for the sake of drama ?? (And so that they have more oppurtunities to showcase other ships??)" I was really irked at first cuz i thought the first part of TFS is finally going to be a movie about rinharu being a powercouple, but! After reading your posts i realised that haru never really moved on from rin leaving, even in S3 the reason why hiyori's words affected him was because he thought he caused rin to leave (and by extension ikuya, but lbr haru wasn't as frustrated with ikuya nearly as much as he was with rin right) so i'm just here to say.. thank you so much for opening my eyes!!! Now i'm really looking forward to the second part!!
Awww no problem <3 tbh I've always said that free is one of those that has so many nuances left bts that it's sometimes confusing for those who aren't as invested I think. Like there's so many important things that are left out and are in additional materials, that some has no idea what's going on at times. Like back in the days when some interpreted s2 in the opposite way bc of that one thing. My point is that not everyone is even watches stuff like recaps for example (where there are in fact new easter eggs and so many important things like Rin's dad death aftermath etc), and even less read novels and checked side stories and dramas.
For example, in books this Haru's issue about him thinking he's cursed and hurts everyone with his swimming is a huge thing, when Asahi "lost his ability to swim" after seeing Haru's free. But in SD it wasn't adressed at all tbh.
And what Haru feels for Rin is such tornado of emotions, that surprised even me with all the descriptions, bc like it's real bad. Like that part I posted from the chapter when Rin leaves is at least understandable, since he leaves. But the way he reacts to him in general even when he just appears in his sight is always described as if someone tortures him for real lol. And he's always like "pls someone save me, I don't know how to deal with this, bc I've never felt such emotions before".
So basically, like yeah, he's as it is has this thing, when he thinks of himself as some bad omen, so he's very sensitive about it, but since everything Rin-related feels x100000000 for him, its just... well, it hurt for a very long time and sadly was just overlooked by a certain someone, so here we are.
I think we all at first believed that bc Rin's so shocked and in disbelief that Haru could even think that it was his fault in some way:

that maybe they talked about it bts or smth like after the relay. But it seems like Rin either forgot or most likely I think he maybe thought that Haru understood without words? I'm just real sad still that Haru didn't get to hear this speech:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I mean, they made it look by the end of s1 that it was about relay, which partially yeah, but for Rin it was really about Haru. You see what he said.. he said that that 1x02 race with Haru alone.. what made him want to swim again. This whole speech was not only about the fact that Haru wasn't at fault that he quit swimming in the first place, but about the fact that Haru is his lucky charm, that makes everything better. AND WE DIDN'T EVEN GET TO HEAR THAT. So like for Haru it's to this day like "after I messed him up, Rin was saved with the power of friendship and a relay". But he was saved by Haru really. Bc according to s3 info, it was basically just about Haru being on the relay team. I don't try to demean their friendships or anything, but its just what it is.
And as I've said before in one post it's just fascinating that to this day Rin for example thinks that s1 shananigans were just about him and just his problem:
Tumblr media
Haru thought it was about them and their problem:
Tumblr media
So like my point here is I also up to the end of s2 thought that maybe Rei or Rin told that to him, bc we seemed to move on to another problems, until in Kizuna we were shown that he still dreams about that scene of Rin leaving. s3 Hiyori just exposed the wound really.
But also once again see what he said there, it's not just about that one time he keeps reliving, aka his first come back, its really just about each time Rin was leaving. Like the very first one already was bad, the second was the worst, bc he thought he hurt him and thought that bc of him he quit swimming, others are just painful bc by then it was already another kind of feeling. I mean, I do think that this first Rin's return to Australia thing needs to be cleared up since it's obviously still haunting him. But again it's just part of this. Haru after the Australian trip and "I've always admired you" and "without you I have nothing to aim for" and after TYM goodbye when Rin told him that he doesn't need a surprise party and that just swimming with Haru before leaving is the greastest surprise for him, he knows already about the way Rin feels about swimming with him... I think the reason why everyone is freaking out here is that bc the way it's executed it's just really about him constantly missing him and "why am I always have to longingly watch you leave, while you seem fine." If he was in a free race, but wasn't on a relay team, he'd get the same reaction. Its just all seasons combined that brought us here. We already in 3x01 without Hiyori knew that he wasn't handling Rin being far away again good. So tbh it's logical even without any explanation really. I mean, Rin does indeed leave and come back as he pleases and does what he wants without holding back or sometimes thinking about consequences. There's no lie here.
It's like since the beginning for Rin it was like "I found the gorgeous guy I adore and I want to swim with, I'll transfer schools just to nag him into swimming with me, it's not like he's gonna care if I leave after that." (he literally in the book didn't think it was a big deal)
For Haru it was like "I lived just fine, but this guy stormed into my life, made me want things I didn't think I'd ever want, got me addicted to him and then dropped me like a hot potato".
Rin's just very passionate about life and things he wants, like Haru for example, but he's really also very unobservant and very clueless at times.
But like just bc he doesn't know about Haru's existential crisis and all the pain he's truly in when he's leaving, doesn't change the fact that he at times didn't even treat him as a simple friend (because they can't be just friends I KNOW), but still things like "you could've called" "well sorry, I guess I'm just not good at it" are probably hurtful, considering the fact that you are good at it with everyone else tho, Rin sweetie. Like thanks for avoiding us the most and holding back and visiting us the last each time, we feel real special. Haru is like the opposite, he doesn't call anyone for example, but he can call Rin in the middle of the night if needed, he always does for Rin smth that's completely out of his comfort zone.
It's like some say "Rin didn't know he wanted him to call" or "he didn't know Haru felt guilty". He did know he wanted him to call and he didn't know Haru felt guilty and stopped swimming competitively when he stopped swimming, but then Rei told him and Natsuya in 3x03 reminded him about this too. Its just the fact that he doesn't want to add 1+1 and thinks "well, there's no way I can affect Haru like that right?", "he can't be that upset about Rin Matsuoka, right?". While facts are he IS literally the only one who affects Haru in such huge way. It's like everyone else can just pass him by and it's nothing, but he walks by and it's a whole "asdfghgfdsa why my body is on fire, its just Rin who's just standing there".
And I'm also buffled by this thing that some people really say stuff like "where did this come from, they were perfectly fine" etc, as if they ever had normal "friendship" relationship. I'm like when did they ever behave themselves okay? In 3x03 Rin is dying to call Haru, but can't do it, while he's constantly texting everyone including Nagisa. First thing he says in the airport when he comes back is "I'm home, Haru" to air, but then goes to hang out with Makoto and Sousuke, desperately looking for an excuse to see the one whom he from the beginning, as it was shown wanted to see the most, but in his opinion can’t without a reason. It's only when Makoto tells him that Haru was upset about Albert he quickly rans off out of there bc "hooray, I have an excuse to see my bae”. Like we know from the airport scene that he wanted to see Haru the most. If they're so as people say were doing great, than how do you exlain all of their s2 and s3 behavior for real? It's like as if in TYM Haru didn't lose his shit from some gossip about persimmons. I mean, they never settled anything really. And Haru is constantly scared of Rin leaving again since forever.
So it's complicated, but yes, we're super excited for p2, bc asdfghjhgfds.

Wilbur returning as a writer is good (and why it will be an uphill battle)
I am back I guess. I disappeared for a while, which I tend to do. Anyways, my point today is explaining why Wilbur returning as the writer of the SMP is the best possible thing for the server. I’ve seen a lot of hate towards Wilbur and his writing, people say it was too focused on his own character and leaving everyone else out except for Tommy, to which I say.... Have you seen Season 2? They could have renamed the SMP the “Tommy, Techno, and no one else SMP”
Before showing proof to how Wilbur can improve the storyline let me talk about the Final Disk War Arc for a bit:
- It was very good!.... Until you start thinking about it for a little bit. When everyone showed up to say goodbye to Tommy and Tubbo and the Endgame moment were good, but then you remember half of those character either hate Tommy, barely interacted with him or have nothing to do with the plot of Season 2 (Because everyone who was not called Tommy, Techno and Dream were left out). So yeah, those moments are good on their own
- When Tommy starts listing all the horrible things Dream has done to everyone in the server and can’t think of any besides a joke about Quackity not wearing clothes... Even they know no one had any stake in the plot jesus
-Dream ending up in the prison was the perfect ending. Anyone else ending in that prison would not have made sense from a story perspective. Glad they dodged that narrative bullet.
Really, the Final Disk War made me realise the biggest problem with season 2. The exile arc is very good... on its own. Doomsday was very g- hahahahaah... I’m kidding Doomsday is the only bad bad event on the SMP. And the Final Disk War is also very good. But when you put it all together.... it just doesn’t fit. This is a classic example of something being worse than the sum of its parts (Not sure if I am using that phrase correctly but you get the point... hopefully). Each arc on its own is fairly competent but how did Techno’s execution affect the rest of the arcs? How was the Final Disk War affected by prior arcs? It lacks cohesiveness and consistent themes.
Now I have two more things to say before I give Wilbur his credit:
- I’ve mentioned Eret, Fundy and Nicki a lot because I think they were great characters with a lot of potential. But, as we know, the story completely ignored them in favor of Dream, Techno and Tommy (Even Tubbo was sidelined for most of the Story). I am not insinuating anything, but something about one of the few LGBT CC of the server, one of the two women of the server and the only (I think) canonically trans characters being left out of the story they have been a part of since the beginning just... doesn’t feel right to me.
- I LOVE Ranboo. You can see the passion and dedication he puts in his story and I love it. But, has he really done anything? Like... that affects the plot. He grieffed George’s house with Tommy but you can cut him out of it and nothing changes? Same with blowing up the community house, you can just say it was Dream and cut Ranboo’s character all together. If you can remove a character and the plot does not change then that is a bad character. And this is not Ranboo’s fault, you can tell how passionate he is and he is definitely the best actor of the SMP (Low bar there but whatever), but the Storyline says: No, your character cannot actually do anything. This also fits together with the Eret, Fundy and Nicki situation: A character giving his opinion and feeling over an event is not a character being involved in the plot. That is a reactionary character that never affects anything but is delegated to just reacting to the plot other characters move. Sad.
Now. How can Wilbur fix all of this? The evidence can be seen on his failed resurrection. He went directly to Eret to ask for help. That is the key to everything.
Tommy is the main character. There is no changing that this far into the story. But by writing stories that involve other characters you include them. Big shocker there, I know. Season 2 was more character centric (Although not in a good way), the problem is that character centric stories cannot handle that many characters. Wilbur has said that he prefers geopolitical plots and why is that? A country has many people, not only one. if you built and open narrative, it allows for anyone who want to be included in the story to... well, be included. And a story being more geopolitical does not mean it is not character centric, but a character-centric story cannot be geopolitical.
Why did I mention him asking Eret for help before Philza joining in? Because it is simple thing like that the way to go to include other characters. If you invite another CC into your lore event, then that CC can develop how his character interacts and grows from that event. You see this with Eret, he shows regret over the betray, he shows his love for Fundy and his respect for Wilbur. It really is not that hard to do, which makes everything season 2 has done way more infuriating. The ONE thing Wilbur decides in season 2 showed more skill that anything in season 1 (Kind of an exaggeration but you get the point).
So to summarize, Wilbur will improve season 3 in two ways: Writing a bigger narrative that sustains more character and inviting said left-out characters to help out on events that they may not really have a lot of stake in.
Why it will be an uphill battle you ask? Because they got rid of L’manberg. The geopolitical stuff is barely present anymore. And season 2 negative’s will still affect the future of the SMP forever just as the strength’s of season 1 impacted the mix reception season 2 had.
PS: English. Me make mistakes sometimes. Me sorry. Also sorry if I rambled a bit too much. Head full.
PS2: The egg plot is cool and new and refreshing. But I cannot say it is very good until I see what the emotional core of the story is. It is still fairly new so I will give it the benefit of the doubt.
PS3: Sorry if I was too negative again, but there are already so many people pointing out the good things about the SMP. This fandom forgets that they are allowed to not like things, and disagree with the CC. I see many post per day saying things like: If CC does this (Insert stupid idea) then we (Their viewers who they have to appease in some way or another) we CANNOT COMPLAIN EVER. Like, no. Have some critical thinking and point out bad when you see it, I know this fandom is capable of it but many suppress critical thinking in this fandom in favor of very weird hive-mind ideas.
PS4: Dream’s song is not it. I am sorry.
